Position Purpose
A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides community-inspired, volunteer-powered disaster relief. The position is full-time and responsible for overall management and strategic development of the US Response program to ensure efficient and effective delivery of projects.

Essential Functions

- Responsible for the successful operation and completion of the program as a whole
- Ensure overall budget and timeline compliance of the program
- Onboard and manage an effective staff team to meet the specific needs of the affected communities
- Oversee and empower staff and volunteer roles to carry out work effectively and efficiently
- Support operations team to deliver their specific operational and project targets within approved timeline and budget
- Work with Project Manager and program team to build effective strategy for assessing needs, identifying work scopes, and building appropriate queue based on prioritization, guiding the direction of the overall scope of the response program as it develops.
- Maintain, develop, and promote safe working practices including risk assessments, preventative measures to address hazards and threats, contingency plans, and resources to support safe operations, i.e. medical and emergency services
- Ensure program tracking systems are updated while overseeing delivery of weekly and monthly reporting for all aspects of the program
- Collaborate with local partners to create partnerships in support of the program
- Attend Long Term Recovery Group (LTRG) meetings and National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) calls where appropriate, as well as any other response coordination meetings, and communicate information that may affect the organization and our operations to the appropriate manager when necessary
- Provide communications on the programs performance and escalate issues to the appropriate parties
- Work with the Response Manager and other relevant managers to identify recovery needs and support the program’s transition from response to recovery if and when appropriate.

Position Requirements
- Education Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience
- Related Experience 2+ years experience working in a disaster response context, preferably with All Hands and Hearts. 1+ years of experience with project management responsibilities and budgeting tracking and reporting. 1+ years management experience.
- Special Competencies/Certifications Good written and oral communication skills and confident working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets; and Microsoft Office. Applicants need to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits
- Typical starting salary is $20.00 - $22.00/hour, and up to $24.00/hour for highly qualified candidates who have previous experience in this role.
