Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled program associate to join our organization and support our Power and Democracy, Opportunity to Learn, and Justice Project programs to research and analyze policy & legislation; deliver data and other work product to all program & project areas. The ideal candidate will assist program teams to identify and analyze information to fulfill organizational goals.
This position will be a part of our collective bargaining unit with compensation determined by the collective bargaining structure.
The position reports to the Litigation Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Ongoing and Developing Litigation, including Project Management for Litigation Tasks
Support day-to-day case management, including by tracking and monitoring deadlines (internal, legal-team, and court), maintaining ongoing task lists, monitoring case correspondence.
Participate in internal litigation meetings and broader cases meetings, where requested, and take notes at meetings. Ensure notes are organized in our internal system.
Proofread and Bluebook court documents (with training).
Prepare exhibits for court filings.
Assist attorneys with preparation for hearings, depositions, and other litigation events. Attend case events as needed. Assist with scheduling case-related travel.
Maintain documents for legal team, including by organizing documents collected from clients, ensuring client documents and defendants’ discovery responses are uploaded to proper document review platforms, providing document/production summaries to litigation team(s).
Conduct fact research, investigation, and analysis to support legal proceedings.
Assist with preparation for depositions and, as needed, attend and/or summarize depositions.
