About the FiCS lab

The Finance in Common Financial Innovation Lab (FiCS Lab) is a new initiative being developed by CPI, in partnership with Finance in Common (FiCS) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to support public development banks address barriers to climate finance by sharing best practices, developing standardized approaches to climate instruments, and providing technical support to move ideas from inception to implementation.

Position summary

As the FiCS Lab takes shape, we are seeking a motivated Program Associate who will provide essential operational support to ensure smooth program functioning.  Ideal for candidates with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, eager to contribute to the international development and climate change sectors.

Although the position will primarily have an operations focus, there may also be opportunities, dependent on capacity and the candidate’s skills/interests, to engage with the innovative and cross-cutting substantive work of the FiCS Lab. This position is ideal for a candidate looking to build their career in the international development or climate change space, with a particular focus on public sector innovation and multi-stakeholder partnerships.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct stakeholder management and coordinate internal and external meetings, manage agendas, presentations, and communications.
  • Assist in project management, including call for ideas, budget monitoring, and stakeholder database maintenance.
  • Support communication and outreach efforts, including website maintenance and content development.
  • Collaborate with global CPI staff and engage in cross-cutting substantive work of the FiCS Lab.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • BA or BS degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Previous involvement with multi-stakeholder partnerships preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with MS Teams, WordPress, and/or Airtable desirable.
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in a second language advantageous.
  • Interest in climate finance, international climate policy, and sustainable development desirable.

Position details

CPI is recruiting for one full time position for an immediate start. The preference is for a candidate based Washington D.C., however, we will also consider candidates based in CPI’s office in San Francisco who are flexible to accommodate international time zones.

CPI has adopted a flexible working policy whereby staff are able to work remotely as they wish with offices available for their use as and when required. Weekly in-person attendance is strongly preferred.

CPI offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package. Title and compensation will depend on location and be commensurate with experience in line with CPI's compensation structure, but the estimated compensation range for this role will be within $65,000 - $72,000 DOE.
