Climate Policy Initiative is hiring a
Program Associate, Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance
ABOUT CPI
With deep expertise in finance and policy, Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) is an analysis and advisory organization that works to improve the most important energy and land use practices around the world. Our mission is to help governments, businesses, and financial institutions drive economic growth while addressing climate change. CPI has five offices around the world in Brazil, India, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
ABOUT THE CITIES CLIMATE FINANCE LEADERSHIP ALLIANCE
Trillions of dollars will be required to help cities build the low-emissions, resilient infrastructure necessary to combat and react to climate change. The Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA) is the only multi-level and multi-stakeholder coalition aimed at closing the investment gap for urban subnational climate projects and infrastructure worldwide.
Launched at the United Nations Secretary-General's Climate Summit in September 2014, CCFLA was renewed during the 2019 UNSG Climate Action Summit, with CPI as its secretariat. CCFLA has successfully provided an efficient platform and convening space, gathering the relevant actors dedicated to urban development, climate action, and/or financing, and providing knowledge and understanding to these various actors. Its members represent many of the world’s largest city and subnational networks, major public and private financial institutions, governments, and international organizations. CCFLA consists of more than 60 members, representing the main market players in city-level climate finance.
CCFLA was renewed along with the announcement of the Leadership for Urban Climate Investment (LUCI), initiated by a multi-stakeholder coalition led by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety (BMU) at the UN SG Climate Summit in 2019. LUCI is a framework that elevates and tracks commitments made by Alliance member initiatives, by catalyzing action along the entire value chain of subnational climate finance from project conception through financing.
