The Role: Product Quality Leader
Who are you?
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, the Quality Leader will represent the Quality team in the Manufacturing team. They will feel completely comfortable building out the quality department, including the tools & systems to support it and its integration with manufacturing.
The Quality Leader follows Svante’s Company values and the Lean customer-oriented Manufacturing culture to deliver value, quality, and reliability.
The Quality Leader will represent and deliver value to the customer. They will liaison with Product Development and R&D to provide product definition and processes. The Quality Leader will support the Manufacturing Engineering team with equipment qualification, QC resourcing support, PFMEA, and Document Control. The Quality Leader will interact with Supply Chain for raw material QA and Material Review Board (MRB).
They will own First Pass Yield and Yield metrics, driving systemic solutions. The Leader will document Customer Claims and resolve them with Lean/SPC methods (8D, 5-Why, Change Point, Training). They will overview Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) risks and suggest solutions.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Complete audits of manufacturing capabilities and specifications.
- Assist in failure analysis.
- Familiar with change request and corrective actions methodology.
- Develop Skills Matrix for Production and Manufacturing Engineering.
- Perform tests, gather data, and write results/reports for the Quality of Svante’s products.
- Conducts procedures within health and safety guidelines.
- Work in a manufacturing environment from a standing desk.
- Management of customer claims and tracking of resolutions.
- Provide a structured introduction of new processes & equipment from Mfg Engineering to Production.
- Provide structure & support for defect analysis activities.
- Participate in development of design specifications.
- Leads and trains Quality within Production.
- Manages KPI for Quality Department (FPY, Yield).
- Supports and delivers Raw Material QA, Material Review Board, and Vendor development and qualification with Supply Chain Department.
Key Qualifications:
- Demonstrate strong and structured approach to problem solving, often within the context of common manufacturing structure such as 5-Whys, fishbone diagram (Ishikawa cause and effect), 8D…
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing.
- Ability to perform all assigned tasks, work independently, and complete work on schedule.
- Ability to develop and execute a detailed test plan.
- Working knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience and knowledge of QMS system.
- Knowledge of SharePoint.
- Familiar with Statistical Process Control.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with efficient management of time and resources.
- Continuous improvement mindset with abilities to identify process inefficiencies and implement controls/automation improvements.
Preferred
- Familiarity with Job Instruction Method training.
Physical Requirements:
- Sit/stand/walk 8 hrs/day.
