Role
The Product Manager is responsible for one product area within our overarching Product's portfolio. You will gain a deep understanding of the market and customer, contributing to a product vision, developing business cases, ensuring a product or set of product features meets business requirements and driving the creation and delivery of the product. We are looking for a Product Manager to help us build out innovative solutions in Machine Learning tooling that can expand our existing platform capabilities. You will define the strategy of our product, zero on in our market opportunity, and assist in creating assets for our delivery team to use while deploying our solutions.
Your Responsibilities
- Identify business opportunities that will drive product success, including pricing and/or build/buy decisions
- Collaborate with others to develop expertise in market and competition for your services, understanding what's next and when to stay the course
- Establish effective relationships with key stakeholders across the company to streamline process of gathering ideas/inputs that improve product decisions
- Represent the customer for assigned product area, demonstrating responsibility for end-to-end customer journey and touchpoints
- Define epics and user stories, clearly articulating business requirements for the problems being solved, including UX/CX/Support requirements
- Identify and track metrics and success criteria to create transparency and visibility to program success and opportunities for improvement; provide input to portfolio planning process for assigned product area
- Help to remove obstacles to effective and efficient product delivery from scrum teams
- Internalize and deeply understand Advata's mission and strategy.
- Become a product leader who helps connect machine learning to problems in the healthcare space
- Author application specifications and assist in other product related artifacts
- Travel may be required up to 30% for client site visits, conferences, training, and Sales and Marketing events
In your first 30 days, you will...
- Onboard with our Product, Engineering, Accounts, Data Science and Analytics teams
- Understand what services are critical to supporting our existing business and how we address gaps
- Learn how our various departments use machine learning, reporting, and business intelligence tools to help their teams operate
- Internalize the Customer journey map and the existing opportunities to improve our supporting applications
- Gain insight into how machine learning could be used to solve problems for our patients and our internal users
In your first 60 days, you will...
- Author application specifications that might be specific to customer deployments
- Be a champion of the Advata platform
- Be ready to conduct user research on your applications working closely with design and sales
In your first 90 days, you will...
- Participate in the development of the long-term product strategy providing industry expertise
- Build a roadmap that lays out how Advata should evolve its ML tooling as part of a larger platform
- Become the point person for the product areas you own
- Represent the Product and Engineering teams in cross-functional settings and in customer negotiations
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant product management experience
- Demonstrated understanding of the healthcare IT environment
- Proven experience bringing products to market, especially technical enterprise b2b products
- Proven technical understanding of ML/AI, Cloud, and data
- Proven ability to influence both horizontally and vertically inside and outside the organization
- Demonstrated understanding of product management best practices, including agile development environments
- Demonstrated knowledge of the software development process
- Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior experience delivering software tooling to support machine learning teams in the form of frameworks, libraries, or dedicated software tools.
- A passion for improving the way people receive health care by improving access and information availability
- Good knowledge of relational databases and skill with SQL and Python or another programming language
- Knowledge of data warehousing solutions, database architecture, ETL and BI tools (like Power BI, Tableau, Qlik etc.)
Preferred Experience
- Hands on experience across the ML lifecycle, from exploratory analysis, feature engineering, model development, to operating ML in production with good working knowledge of the approaches and infrastructure needs in each area.
- Familiarity with tools in the data and ML space such Databricks, Kubeflow, MLflow, Jupyter, Pytorch, TensorFlow, etc
- Familiarity with healthcare centric data integrations and formats such as HL7, C-CDA, FHIR, EDI, etc is helpful but not required.
- Experience with working in a startup environment.
