Are you passionate about quality environmental work and the superior client service? SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a highly experienced, self-motivated Principal Project Manager to successfully drive our projects throughout all phases from early planning and permitting through construction, including the FERC regulatory process. You should have experience in Austin, TX and nearby. This position will report to the Austin, TX office. This position will support generating work in the oil/gas sector, but could also be involved with the transportation, transmission, and renewable energy (Solar and Wind) industries. The ideal candidate will have connections with one or more of the above industries.

This is a full-time, regular (with benefits) position.

What you will accomplish

  • Directly provide and lead others in providing environmental compliance services in conformance with FERC, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Clean Water Act (CWA), the Endangered Species Act (ESA), and a host of other federal and state regulatory statutes.
  • Manage or contribute to the execution of large, strategic, and/or multidisciplinary projects, especially related to permitting of linear and other infrastructure projects.
  • Mentor and supervise staff.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, engagement, quality service, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with internal strategy in alignment with overall regional and corporate growth plans for the Texas and the Gulf Coast.
  • Enhance SWCA’s professional reputation and demonstrate the ability to be creative and innovative with these tasks while representing SWCA in a professional manner.
  • Work closely with other key individuals throughout SWCA to promote our business interests in adherence with the company’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Actively develop business with new clients and act as advocate for existing clients to ensure client satisfaction and facilitate repeat business.
  • Demonstrate a team-oriented attitude and embody SWCA’s Core Values.

Experience and qualifications for success

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an environmental related field.
  • A minimum of (12) twelve years of experience in environmental consulting overseeing fieldwork and report completion, QA/QC, scheduling, and budgeting of projects, as well as success in proposal writing.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience supervising and providing leadership for environmental professionals, including in the oil/gas sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in FERC permitting.
  • Demonstrated business development success and consulting acumen, including substantial established credibility with federal and state reviewing agencies and clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Active in a professional environmental organization.
  • Experience working for both consulting and energy firms very helpful.
  • Experience with SWPPPs, SPCC plans and NPDES.
  • Experience with other Federal and State regulators

An employee in this Austin, TX -based position can expect a salary of $110.292/year to $145,236.00/year.  Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
