Cundall’s Lighting Design team (Cundall Lighting) deliver award-winning innovative design solutions which have over recent years been described as game changers in a number of sectors within the industry. The lighting designers support all the Cundall office projects globally in addition to working on independent Cundall Lighting commissions. With a progressively increasing workload there is a need for additional skills within the team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Lighting Designer to join the team our London office (St Pauls). You will be responsible for managing and delivering the lighting design elements of your projects in addition to supporting your lighting design colleagues, managing and developing more junior members of the team.

You will be expected to push the boundaries both creatively and technically to deliver outstanding and award-winning lighting designs.
Our projects are across a variety of sectors including workplace, hospitality, retail, public realm and heritage across the following areas of service; Light Planning, Designing for Daylight, Architectural Lighting Design and Lighting Installations.
An established lighting designer with experience of developing projects from the creative concept stage through the technical delivery stage to commissioning and completion.
You are a confident and credible relationship builder and know what it takes to manage and exceed client expectations (both internally and externally) and have experience of managing and mentoring more junior engineers.
You will have a portfolio demonstrating;
Strong demonstration of architectural lighting design experience in various sectors including daylight design and Dark Sky/obtrusive light assessments.
Concept design sketches including free hand drawings and basic lighting renders to photorealist renders
A high understanding of architecture and interior design interpretation of drawings and the built form
Demonstration of lighting details for incorporation into the architecture
Demonstration of lighting control, circuiting, programming and single line diagrams
Clear understanding of photometric data and lighting terminology.
Demonstration of luminaire specification and order of cost documentation.
Strong understanding and demonstration of Illuminance calculations in relation to global lighting standards (BSI, EN, IESNA, ANSI, AS, CIE)
Clear understanding of global sustainability lighting credits (WELL, LEED, Green Star, FitWel, BREEAM) and demonstration of compliance documentation.
Strong Graphic Design skills and the understanding of how to lay out a page in lighting design concept return brief, concept design reports/presentation, technical drawings including details.
Demonstration of lighting analysis interpretation and report writing
