About the role

The People and Culture Team is seeking an experienced Payroll and HRIS Officer.

The Payroll and HRIS Officer is responsible for coordinating and administering an effective payroll function. This role is also responsible for ensuring all employee records on our HRIS system is accurate and maintained.

You will be reporting into the National People and Culture Manager.

Key responsibilities

As the Payroll and HRIS Officer you will be accountable for:

  • Responsible for managing the accuracy of all monthly payroll runs and payroll process (end to end payroll process).
  • Ensuring that payroll data and employee related records and entitlements are accurate.
  • Working collectively with the People and Culture Coordinator to ensure timeliness of HRIS information management and employee onboarding and offboarding task delivery.
  • Excellence in communication (responsiveness, accuracy and clarity) and counsel to all levels of the business across different stakeholder groups.
  • Assisting to maintain and updating relevant PC policies, processes, and systems to ensure accuracy, compliance and overall P&C service delivery excellence.
  • Providing guidance and support to business regarding all level 1 and 2 queries. Escalating to the National P&C Manager where required.
  • Demonstrated independent judgement and solutions-based resolution to employee issues, PC projects, reporting, administration or data-based problems.

We are looking for an experienced Payroll and HRIS Officer who has:

  • Relevant tertiary degree in HR or associated discipline (Payroll qualification).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role with end-to-end experience including processing salary sacrifice arrangements.
  • Proficiency in multiple systems (HRIS, Payroll and associated). ADP and BambooHR experience essential.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, time management and project tracking abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail in system administration skills and ability to maintain current and accurate information across multiple sources.
  • Ability to work in an agile environment multitask and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Quality control, risk management & pragmatic approach to employee issues.
  • Data analytics skills and the ability to create tangible insights from multiple data sets.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
