50CAN is hiring a
P.A.C.E. Strategies: Partnerships and External Relations Associate
Location: Remote or hybrid in-office in NYC
About P.A.C.E. Strategies
At P.A.C.E. Strategies (PACE), We believe in an America where every family can access a great education and participate fully in our democracy. We also believe change should be driven by families, educators, and local leaders who best know the needs of their communities. We partner with local leaders across the country to run campaigns and programs, anchored in the foundational beliefs that schools are the bedrock of strong communities and that everyone’s voice deserves to be heard in our democracy.
We develop a unique advocacy strategy for each partnership that can include communications, creative, digital, data & research, community organizing, digital organizing, event management, and coalition building.
Since our founding in 2018, PACE has worked with 80 local partners in more than 20 cities across the country to create change. We have supported partners to protect and secure funding, facilities, and renewals for dozens of high-quality schools in New Jersey, Illinois, California, Florida, and Tennessee and to increase the number of high-quality seats in Newark schools by nearly 18% in five years.
To increase civic engagement in key communities, we have partnered with nonprofits and schools in grassroots organizing and mobilizing, provided voter registration assistance, conducted workshops and training on voting rights, and run full-scale non-partisan non-political Get Out The Vote campaigns. A recent internal analysis concludes that voters targeted with PACE’s voter participation tactics turned out at higher rates than other voters in the same elections in 12 of 13 campaigns – on average, by 10 percent. Voters targeted with our efforts outperformed their expected turnout, which predicts turnout likelihood based on each individual’s unique characteristics, in 13 of 13 campaigns – on average, by 11 percentage points.
PACE operates via a partnership with the 50-State Campaign for Achievement Now (50-CAN), a nonprofit organization that works at the local level to advocate for a high-quality education for all kids regardless of their address. 50CAN supports P.A.C.E. as a fiscal sponsor.
