Principal Functions and Purpose of the position:
This position supports the Centre Managers in maintaining the operations of the WWF Visitor Centres at Mai Po Nature Reserve including deliver of an excellent visitor experience to all visitors and executing Panda Shop operations while maintaining service standards that comply with the requirements of WWF-Hong Kong.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer focused – Front-of-house
- Ensure an excellent visitor experience by providing positive interactions between WWF and visitors, including meeting and greeting visitors, proactively assisting visitors, and responding to their inquiries.
- Assist in managing visitor bookings and events operations, including pre- and post-tour arrangements.
- Assist in venue set-up and preparing materials for eco-tours, events, and activities.
- Provide retail services to the Panda Shop, including operating the cashier, POS system, and inventory systems.
Quality of service / Administrative - Back of house
- Provide catering services to Kingfisher Café, including wetland training course, school and public tour overnight program and walk-in guest.
- Handle all-rounded administration tasks of the Visitor Centres when necessary.
- Handle visitor inquiries for Mai Po entry permit applications and assisting with on-site permit registration with official authorities.
- Assist in Shuttle Bus arrangements, including visitor pick-up and registration at Yuen Long MTR Station.
- Maintain the eco-visit equipment in clean and good condition.
- Assist with other WWF activities as required.
- Working hours - 8:00 am to 5:30 pm and night shifts from 12:30 pm to 9:30 pm, may be required during summer seasons.
- Shift work arrangement – Working during weekends and public holidays is required.
- Candidates can work for 3 days per month are preferred.
Requirements:
- Tertiary education in any disciplines. Fresh graduates and students are welcome to apply.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in retail, customer service, and / or event operations is preferred.
- Good command of Chinese and English.
- Responsible, proactive, and customer-oriented, with a pleasant, outgoing, and approachable personality.
- Excellent skills in interpersonal communication, organising, and customer service.
- Detail-minded with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism in handling inventory and POS information.
- Cycling skill is essential to perform outdoor duties in Mai Po Nature Reserve.
- Performing job duties in outdoor environment is required.
- Nature interpretation skills will be an advantage.
