This part-time position is on a 12-month contract basis reporting to the Visitor Centre Officer to support the operation of Hoi Ha Visitor Centre (HHVC) providing land-based public guided eco-tours on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays; and supporting centre-based workshops/activities. The position is offered on a scheduled rostered hours basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct the land-based public guided eco-tours (Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays).
- Support day-to-day visitor services at the reception counter and exhibition hall and on-site enrolment service for public eco-tours
- Support enrolment and delivery of centre-based educational workshops exhibitions and festive events for families, general public and community groups.
- In addition to HHVC, provide assistance to other visitors of Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park.
Required Functional Skills:
- Possession of post-secondary education qualification, or equivalent, in natural science or other related subjects;
- Good command of both Chinese and English, with Grade E/ Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE);
- Possession of First Aid Certificate issued by the St. John Ambulance Brigade, the Hong Kong Red Cross, the Auxiliary Medical Service or equivalent;
- Proficiency in Cantonese and English. Proficiency in Putonghua is an added advantage;
- Possession of Microsoft Word, Excel, Photoshop or Illustrator Skills is anadvantage;
- Physically fit for outdoor work;
- Have at least one year of experience in guiding nature education activities, customer service or counter inquiry service is an advantage;
- Good interpretation skill and knowledge for marine conservation, plants and animals and science popularization; and
- Familiar with Sai Kung tourist information is an advantage.
- Working during weekends and holidays will be required as per the rostered working schedule;

We offer a rostered Part-time 12 month contract with competitive compensation and benefits packages to the right candidate. The work location of this post is at the AFCD Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park Visitor Centre, Sai Kung. Daily Transportation is available on WWF vehicle from Ma On Shan. Scheduled work is in the outdoors and at weekends and on holidays as required.
