Mercy Corps Netherlands (MCNL) has grown significantly both in terms of the volume of activity and its complexity. With offices in The Hague and Geneva, and team members based in other European locations, we now employ around over 20 team members. The growth is expected to continue as we embark on a new three-year strategy and deepen our engagement with the EU institution and the Dutch government, other Dutch donors and partners. A critical element of MCNL’s success will be in our ability to attract and retain talented and committed team members.

Mercy Corps team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our program participants, community partners, other stakeholders, and to international standards guiding international relief and development work. The successful candidate will demonstrate a healthy combination of professionalism, confidence and good humor in supporting the HR function for Mercy Corps Netherlands. You will possess excellent communication skills and will place a high priority on attention to detail and organization. The HR & Payroll Administrator will be able to work both independently and cooperatively, and will effectively and accurately support in the processing of all payroll and benefit queries. You will demonstrate flexibility and creativity in planning and problem-solving, be a quick learner, someone who takes the initiative, and will be accountable for results. The successful individual will be able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, fluid work environment.
The position is based in The Hague and can be expected to travel for small amounts of time through the UK and Europe and US. Although international travel will be limited in this role, all Mercy Corps team members should be comfortable to travel to areas with limited access to medical facilities and amenities. Mercy Corps Team members represent the agency both during and outside of work hours when deployed in a field posting. Team members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and respect local laws, customs and MC's policies, procedures, and values at all times and in all in-country venues.
