We are looking for a Paralegal or Senior Paralegal to drive our company forward, and help us lead the clean energy revolution!
How you will make an impact:
The Corporate Paralegal will be responsible for maintaining corporate records, drafting and reviewing legal documents and contracts, conducting legal research, supporting regulatory compliance, and otherwise provides legal support on a wide variety of matters handled in the legal department. This position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Maintain corporate records and databases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Support counsel with corporate/ subsidiary management, board of directors and corporate governance efforts
Support counsel in regulatory work including monitoring compliance, conducting research, preparing periodic filings and maintaining appropriate records.
Contract process management, including intake, populating templates, liaising with internal stakeholders, request tracking, and facilitating signatures
Maintain and update contract management system, including contract records, periodic quality control, routine reporting, and user updates
Execute on e-signature requests, including intake, tracking, and facilitating signatures
Conduct legal research on general, compliance, and industry-specific legal issues
Coordinate with external legal counsel on litigation, intellectual property, employment/immigration, regulatory compliance, etc.
Assist with legal projects and initiatives as assigned by attorneys
Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, people team, and security / CISO team, to support corporate legal initiatives and projects
Perform a variety of administrative tasks and support for legal department, including legal billing and budgeting
Perform other duties as assigned
Review, analyze, draft and revise contracts in concert with sales leads, professional services leads and counsel
Work with internal and external stakeholders to carefully obtain and track the requirements needed for each contract
Coordinate and negotiate contract process with customer and vendor procurement teams
Collaborate on and assist with management of practical, organization-wide contract management process and system (Ironclad), overseeing the processes needed to create, execute and analyze contracts
Maintain organized systems of digital contract records
Communicate and manage contracts workflow
What you bring to Uplight:
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience working as a paralegal in a corporate legal department or law firm (Paralegal)
10+ years of experience working as a paralegal in a corporate legal department or law firm (Senior Paralegal)
Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
Strong knowledge of corporate law / corporate governance, commercial contracts, and legal research methods
Familiarity with data privacy and security, intellectual property, litigation, regulatory compliance, employment / immigration
Familiarity with Ironclad or another CLM
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills
Ability to proactively exercise independent judgment and decision making skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, multitask, and complete objectives in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
At least five years of intensive experience with contracts negotiation and management
Experience working closely with or reporting to legal counsel
Knowledge of and experience with contract terms and legal requirements
Ability to multitask, demonstrate organization, prioritization, and time management skills to ensure that work-related activities are completed in an accurate and timely manner
Excellent writing skills and ability to demonstrate clear and concise communication
Commitment to maintaining high standards of confidentiality and ability to work with highly sensitive data and information
Exceptional communications skills to effectively deal with various levels of colleagues, management, and business partners
Bonus points:
Experience with subsidiary management and international corporate law.
Notary Public certification.

Paralegal Salary Range: $70,000 to $85,000 + Bonus
Senior Paralegal Salary Range: $85,000 to $105,000 + Bonus
