Overnight Desk Monitor

About the Job:

The Overnight Desk Monitor ensures the safety and security of residents, staff, and facility. Controls front door access, greets, and assists residents, receives, and routes deliveries, and aids resident when appropriate. The Overnight Desk Monitor will champion all New Moms values including our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. This position works in our Oak Park office, seated in the foyer area of a residential housing program. This is a temporary position scheduled 16-24 hours per week.

Shift: Overnight shifts are scheduled between Friday 8pm and Sunday 8am.

Hourly Wage: $18.50/hour

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Control front and rear door access to building
• Ensure safety and security of residents, staff, and Oak Park facility
• Greet all residents and visitors, providing direction where appropriate
• Ensure after-hour visiting sheets are signed
• Route evening deliveries where appropriate
• Monitor and report emergency situations
• Perform scheduled and random checks of public spaces throughout the facility
• Collaborate with staff to complete reports where appropriate
• Maintain a professional and effective relationship with local emergency responders
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Completed or enrolled in high school, or in an accredited GED program

• Experience in non-profit or faith-based settings preferred

• Previous monitoring or security experience preferred

• Must possess strong communication skills

• Must possess polite and pleasant demeanor

• Ability to sit and/or walk for an extended period

• Ability to work evening, overnight, and weekend hours

• All work hours take place on site at our Oak Park location. Remote working is not available for this position.
