Job Summary:
A HUB Superintendent will be responsible for managing the safe operations of a section of the HUB hydrometallurgical facility, with responsibility for all operational KPI’s including production, efficiency, availability, utilization, and budget. Effectively coordinate production across 4 crews running 24 hours a day; 7 days a week. Ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal safety, and quality regulations.

They will have experience building teams, communicating effectively with operators and senior leadership, and creating a positive “can-do” attitude.
Primary Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):
- Create a positive, respectful atmosphere among crews, fostering a team environment and open communication
- Implement production plans according to approved schedule
- Manage and coordinate activities between maintenance and production to maximize plant availability
- Provide support and resources for supervisors and operators, including ongoing training, coaching and goals
- Help generate and provide input for area budget, track costs and maintain budget, and adjust going forward
- Inspect and evaluate work progress, identify problems, and direct remedial action
- Prioritize staff, materials, and equipment to accomplish monthly and quarterly goals
- Develop and review process procedures
- Ensure all safety and operations procedures and documentation are properly performed including LOTO, confined space, and permit to work
- Ensure safe, environmentally compliant, and cleanly work areas are maintained
- Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) preferred
- 5+ Years experience in an industrial facility with direct and indirect supervision
- Previous experience in leaching, solvent extraction or crystallization processes preferred
- Budget creation and management experience
- Able to offer technical expertise and guidance
- Skilled in building strong rapport with department team members and external departments
- Valid State issued Drivers License or Government issued I.D
- Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques
- Experience with routine maintenance operations
- Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, methods, process, and procedures
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always
- Skilled in following safety and environmental practices and recognizing hazards
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail with focus on continuous improvement
Working Conditions:
- Working outside regardless of weather conditions
- Walking over a large area with multiple ladders to traverse
- Participation in weekend coverage duty rotation
- May encounter Nickel and or Nickel containing products. (Nickel allergies are very common)
- Wear required PPE for full duration of work-shift: nitrile or other types of gloves, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hard hat or bump cap, and coveralls
- Additional PPE may be required infrequently, acid suit, respirator, face shield, etc.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Some travel maybe required
- Regularly required to lift up to 20 pounds. Rarely required to lift up to 50 pounds
