Operations Officer

WWF-HK is looking for an Operations Officer in our Operations team, reporting to Centre Manager, who will be providing front of house and back of house services at both the WWF Hoi Ha Marine Life Centre and outdoor events across Hong Kong, with a focus on promoting marine conservation and education. The responsibilities involve organizing and facilitating eco-tours, enhancing visitor experience, managing the operations of the Panda Shop, and ensuring the maintenance of the building and surrounding areas to meet established standards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Facility Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of the centre to ensure the premises are secure and safe.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and promptly report any issues requiring attention.
  • Maintain effective communication with service contractors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the premises, machines, and other equipment to ensure optimal condition is maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting assessments and maintaining cleanliness of the premises.

Customer Engagement & Event Coordination

  • Meet and greet visitors. Engaged with the visitors and provide them with comprehensive introductions to WWF's brand and services.
  • Coordinate activities at the centre and to ensure facilities are prepared for various events.
  • Set up rooms, venues, and catering prior to the events and manage the post-event support including basic clean-up.

Souvenir Shop Operations

  • Manage daily operations of the Panda Shop, including the POS and inventory system.
  • Conduct inventory checks and maintain accurate records.

Administrative Support

  • Assist with applications to government or other authorities, such as permit arrangements and on-site inspections.
  • Assist with enquiries, feedback, and customer complaints.
  • Assist the Centre Manager with administrative tasks, including circulating agendas and minutes of team meetings, coordinating part-time staff work schedule, etc.
  • Support WWF activities and perform other ad-hoc duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Marketing Management, Operations Management or related disciplines.

  • Minimum 3 year of work experience in retail, administration, customer service, or event operations.

  • Experience in using a POS system and facility management is preferred.

  • Responsible, proactive, and customer-oriented person with a pleasant and outgoing personality.

  • A team player with good organizing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Good command of Chinese and English.

  • Perform outdoor duties and willing to work in adverse weather conditions.

  • On shift working arrangement to support duty on weekends and public holidays.
