We are a non-profit social enterprise working with purpose to develop leaders who can cross cultural, institutional, and social boundaries, all so that people can work better together despite our differences. We are an organization founded on strong social purpose and we live this continuously through our work. An important part of our values is to support diverse talent and as part of that our commitment is to ensuring that people from under-represented backgrounds have places on our programmes.

Our Operations Manager will support our leadership development programmes by managing the systems and processes used by our programme Delivery Team. Our Operations Manager will also be the direct interface for our programme Delivery Team with our central support services – Finance, IT, Brand/Communications and HR. This is why we are looking for someone who is able to work on multiple projects at the same time, meeting deadlines and delivering the highest possible quality.

As well as supporting the preparation for the programmes, you will be part of the delivery teams on the day. This is an exciting opportunity to work with leaders from all around the world, from university students to senior leaders, in-person to online!

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with central support services to ensure the smooth operational running of the programme Delivery Team
  • Track supplier invoices and contracts, working with the Finance team to ensure we meet our obligations
  • Ensure that admin systems and processes are properly and transparently utilised and refined
  • Produce new resources/materials and update existing ones to aid programme delivery
  • Act as central point of contact for programme delivery for a specific key client or clients
  • Support real-time delivery of our programmes both online and in-person as required
  • Post-delivery follow up including reporting, data and completion of programme Learning Log
  • Data administration using our in-house CRM system

To do this you will need to be able to collaborate with Common Purpose colleagues globally (across different time zones, locations and teams), using systems and networks appropriately and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Experience of delivering successfully in a fast-paced environment, dealing with multiple tasks and shifting deadlines/requirements

  • Able to create and maintain effective project management and planning systems

  • Experience of managing stakeholders and their expectations – both internal and external

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy

  • Experience of working across different time zones (ideally as part of a global team)

  • Ability to use admin systems appropriately and efficiently

  • Confident and proficient in the use of MS Office, Teams and Zoom (and ideally, project planning tools)

All applicants must also:

  • Have excellent written English, oral communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable interacting on the phone/video calls and in-person
  • Be able and willing to travel for short periods of time (when restrictions allow) and at short notice and outside of normal working hours

If you have a passion for making a difference and are looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a dynamic non-profit organization, we encourage you to apply for this position.

Please send us your CV and cover letter - we will not consider any applications that don’t contain a cover letter. As a purpose-led organization committed to access and equity, we welcome applications from different and diverse backgrounds; attitude, mindset and energy are the critical currency for this role.

Common Purpose is an equal opportunities employer. If you have any access requirements that you would like us to be aware of to support your application, please get in touch with us at hr@commonpurpose.org.
