The Gold Standard Foundation seeks a highly motivated individual to join our Standard Development and Innovation team. This is a full-time position responsible for working on regular standard updates to align with Gold Standard’s strategy and policy and new market developments.
This is remote role based in India.
Primary Responsibilities – Development
Development, updates and innovation - standard
- Lead drafting of standard updates, revisions, minutes for advisory committees and gather feedback from stakeholders.
- Serve as a focal point for standard related queries from project developer, VVBs and other stakeholders.
- Support revisions and updates to standard development - procedures, review and approvals.
Reviews and assessments
- Conduct review of deviation requests on standard application.
- Conduct review of clarification requests received from stakeholders.
Collaboration
- Working with colleagues in communications, and other teams to ensure timely publication of updates, accuracy and delivery of key messages related to standard requirements and procedures .
- Serve as subject matter expert resource on matters relating to standard application, deviations, including training and support other staff.
- Support other teams on technical matters related to standard requirements and procedures.
- Collaborate with other team members on the Scheme Team workplan, as needed.
- Collaborate with the wider Gold Standard team on programs, innovations, planning, etc. as needed.
Training
- Lead and contribute to stakeholder trainings and training material development on standard related matters.
External representation
- Participate and represent GS in conferences, workshops and events on standard related matters as needed and guided by the manager.
Internal processes
- Assist in streamlining and digitising the internal processes to ensure smooth functioning within the team.
Required Skills and Experience
- 4+ years of demonstrated experience in carbon project development or carbon/sustainability standards
- Technical understanding of carbon market mechanisms including CDM and voluntary standards and new developments under Paris Agreement
- Understanding of energy processes particularly in renewable energy generation, household energy efficiency, solid waste and wastewater management sectors is essential.
- Understanding of GHG inventorization/ carbon accounting frameworks of IPCC and GHG Protocol would be an added advantage.
- Understanding of emission reduction/ carbon sequestration process, monitoring and verification techniques.
- Good collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work with a range of staff based all around the world.
