The Noble Research Institute, LLC. and SW Ag Center are accepting applications for the position of Noble Research/SW Ag Center CASH Intern. CASH represents Careers in Ag Safety and Health.
Duration: May 2023 - August 2023
Program Housing: The Institute will provide accommodations for out-of-area interns. Per rules set forth by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), housing that is provided by the Institute is considered a taxable fringe benefit.
Hourly Rate: $15.50 per hour. Interns work 40 hours per week, and are paid semi-monthly. Earnings are subject to applicable state and federal taxes. The intern will work 40 hours per week for up to 10 weeks; payments are made semimonthly. Course credit may also be available, subject to university requirements.

The Noble Research/SW Ag Center CASH Intern will be involved in job safety analysis, safety and health training, program review and development, and assisting with facility inspections.
Specific areas within the program review will include, but are not limited to: chemical safety, fire protection, hazard communications, agricultural safety, confined spaces, electrical safety, environmental safety, and injury/MVR accident data analysis.
The intern will also be exposed to agricultural health and safety research including, but not limited to: the fields of agricultural engineering, epidemiology, industrial hygiene, regenerative ranching, and community based participatory research.
Through these experiences, the intern will learn how research is translated into practice through outreach to stakeholders and educational initiatives. Throughout the summer, the intern will have the opportunity to network with professionals in academia, extension, industry and trade associations.
Noble Research/SW AG Center CASH Intern must:
•Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in a college, university or technical school within the United States
•Have completed sophomore year (at least 60 credit hours) with a declared major in an agriculture or safety related field (see below)
•Be legally authorized to work in the United States (for any employer) and WILL NOT require employment visa sponsorship for this internship; and
•Be capable of working 40 hours per week during the program
The safety intern will live and report to work in Ardmore, OK at the Noble Research Institute and will communicate with the SW Ag Center through weekly scheduled conference calls. Periodic meetings between SW Ag Center staff/researchers and the intern will be coordinated. The Institute will provide accommodations for all out-of-area interns.
Successful candidates are expected to be hardworking and self-motivated, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, work well in a team setting, exhibit excellent problem solving skills and be effective at prioritizing and managing time. In addition, successful candidates need to be a strong advocate for agriculture and land stewardship with aspirations to have a long-term positive impact on agricultural stakeholders in the United States.
