About Next100
Next100 is a different kind of think tank, built for a new generation of policy leaders. We seek to break through the inertia that exists in the political and policy world by supporting a diverse cohort of rising policy leaders in developing new, innovative policy solutions and new approaches to making policy change. We recruit, support, and provide a platform to rising policy leaders, known by us as Policy Entrepreneurs, to drive policy change with and for communities. We are currently selecting for our third cohort of policy entrepreneurs, who will begin their cohort experience in January 2024.
Our website is here; a foundational piece in SSIR on our learning and our work is here. We are an initiative of The Century Foundation.
About the position
We are looking for a mission-driven leader with experience in public policy research, development, implementation, and/or advocacy, and experience managing a diverse team. The Deputy Director must be excited to manage and support a set of Policy Entrepreneurs (full-time fellows who are with us for two years), drive critical organizational priorities and projects, manage internal organizational operations and serve as an important external representative of Next100.
About the work
Policy Entrepreneurs have worked with impacted communities to produce original research, built national coalitions to address newcomer student inequity, convened an event on how civilian climate corps programs can impact economic and climate justice, launched a campaign to abolish legal slavery, put up murals and leveraged their unveilings to educate communities and push for policy change, done more traditional analysis of existing policies and made related recommendations, commissioned original polling, and advocated to Congress. In this role, you’ll support PEs working in all of these ways and more.
