We're on the lookout for an ambitious and determined New Business Sales Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of driving our growth, focusing primarily on our productised service offerings. As well as identifying opportunities for our wider consultancy capability, expanding our reach even further.
The primary focus is on the chemical response sector, working to deliver productised service offers under the banner of our National Chemical Emergency Response Centre (NCEC) brand.

We’d love to hear from you if you have the following competencies and experience:
- The successful candidate will have a proven track record of new business sales and development, including identifying and establishing strong prospect relationships to generate well qualified sales leads that will progress, and managing opportunities through the entire sales cycle through to securing a profitable order (demonstrable with key performance metrics at interview).
- You will have the ability to gain conversations and meetings with regulatory and risk focused senior management through to director-level decision makers at mid- to top-tier companies, and develop compelling solutions tailored to their needs.
- You will also need to quickly understand and be able to articulate the value of our emergency response service alongside our consultancy offerings.
- Hit sales targets by successfully presenting the sales propositions to the market, generating leads, and managing prospects through the sales cycle to close.
- Set the foundations for strong, long-lasting customer relationships by carefully understanding their needs and aligning our services through a consultative approach, demonstrating customer value.
- Defining bespoke sales campaign activity alongside the sales leadership team
- Although experience within the chemical sector is desirable, we will work any successful candidates to develop the necessary knowledge and understand the terminology.
As a New Business Sales Manager you will need to have the following skills and behaviours:
- High levels of personal drive, commitment, and tenacity to create a prospecting and outbound sales programme.
- Disciplined in your approach to preparation and research, to ensure you are fully prepared for any sales meeting opportunity and/or challenge.
- Be an excellent communicator and presenter to build rapport and strategic client relationships as well as excellent engagement with colleagues to optimize effective team dynamics and support.
- Optimising the use of a range of tools and techniques to ensure that the consistency and professionalism of the day-to-day activities lead to positive results in the achievement of your goals.
As a New Business Sales Manager your main responsibilities will be:
- The key purpose is to expand our customer base for all our main product areas, but with a key focus on emergency response. This will include significant targeted and focused prospecting.
- You will be responsible for targeted approaches to the market as a whole but targeting the largest chemical companies and distributors.
- Crafting and implementing a tactical sales plan that identifies and targets high yield prospective companies and convert these for our suite of chemical compliance and response products.
- Take a consultative approach to explore wider customer challenges within sustainable and chemical safety to identify which our wider consultative capabilities can address.
- You will be supported by our proactive and effective marketing team, but you will also be expected to undertake high levels of your own outbound activity – calls, event attendance, meetings, etc.
- The role offers good levels of autonomy, freedom and “ownership” of the plan for growth.
- Whilst intense travel is not expected, there will be the requirement to travel regularly to client meetings and to attend events and trade shows.
