The Role: Material Receiver
Who are you?
The Material Receiver follows instructions to support Svante’s Shipping and Receiving needs. The Receiver is expected to work positively and respectfully as part of a team. The Receiver is expected to be able to recognize, troubleshoot, and support mitigation of shipping/receiving issues and inform the Production Manager when they occur.
The Receiver will work alongside the Material Controller to manage inventory through Kanban and MRP systems. The Receiver will ensure inventory levels are kept (safety stock) and follow up on delays that may affect Production. The receiver will apply mitigations as required to avoid Production interruptions.
The Receiver will support the Production Manager in ensuring Manufacturing inventory arrives “Just in Time”. Lean Manufacturing principles will be followed for Inventory levels and requests. The Receiver is fully empowered to raise any safety and quality issues (IQC/OQC) immediately.
The Receiver is expected to actively participate in Svante 5S and continuous improvement (Kaizen) programs. The Receiver may also be requested to carry out TPM activities for shipping equipment (forklift).

Key Qualifications:
High school or above required.
2-5 years of experience in a shipping/receiving environment.
Basic understanding and ability to read BOL and shipping labels.
Experience with WHMIS and TDG.
Working knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience with Dynamics 365.
Ability to perform all assigned tasks, work independently, and complete work on schedule.
Follow Production Manager directions to avoid Production interruptions.
Strong problem-solving skills and efficient management of time and resources.
Continuous improvement mindset with abilities to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements.
Experience with Kanban system inventory control.
