About the opportunity
SWCA is looking for a results driven, forward-thinking Marketing and Communications Vice President. This position will lead the Marketing Department for SWCA. Responsibilities include developing and executing a comprehensive and integrated strategy that incorporates branding, marketing, social media, and the pursuit process to drive brand awareness and sales. This position oversees a wide variety of communications and marketing strategies across multiple channels to support SWCA’s growth objectives. Also responsible for leading internal communications and culture building. Assumes leadership for marketing/communications team, including goal planning, budgeting, and talent management.
This position is a full-time, regular (with benefits), salaried position that can be based anywhere in the United States, either as a distributed or hybrid (in office) position. The corporate headquarters is in Phoenix, AZ but the candidate does not have to be based there.
What you will accomplish
Reporting to the CEO, this position will:
- Provide comprehensive marketing leadership and strategic direction in alignment with company goals and objectives
- Hire, manage, direct and mentor staff
- Stay current on marketing trends, and competitor intelligence
- Develop and track department budgets
- Drive continuous improvement of the marketing team to increase efficiencies, develop new capabilities and provide excellent service to internal clients
- Establish both short and long-term strategic marketing strategies, and associated tactics, to better tell our story to both external and internal stakeholders
- Set the overall brand strategy and management, including social media and website strategy
- Manage creative services, graphic design, videos, collateral and image library
- Enhance the company’s brand position in the market
- Serve as the brand ambassador to ensure adherence to brand
- Lead marketing strategy integration for acquired firms
- Act as a marketing advocate to the Senior Leadership Team to ensure they are engaged in the strategic marketing agenda, and collaborate with operations to develop annual goals and objectives for annual marketing plans

Experience and qualifications for success
- BA/BS in marketing, branding, business, public relations, or a similar field; or at least fifteen (15)years of marketing experience in lieu of a BA/BS degree
- Track record of holding roles of increasing responsibility including at least five (5) years of senior leadership experience
- Demonstrated track record in a similar or relevant industry
- Experience creating strategic marketing plans
- Marketing experience across all marketing and communications disciplines
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional understanding of environmental consulting market: clients, services, competition
- Demonstrated track record of leading and inspiring all levels of an organization; this includes achieving objectives (with a team approach) by influencing senior executives, departments, and staff without having a direct reporting responsibility to them
- Excellent communications skills, including interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal
- Demonstrated track record of creating and leading high-performance teams
- Self-starter with the ability to work effectively across the organization, as well as a capacity of communicating with a diverse range of individuals
