What is the opportunity?
The Marketing Project Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing marketing strategies to increase awareness of the global water crisis and support for Water Mission. This role coordinates with the other functional areas of the ministry at strategic and tactical levels. He or she must be creative, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively with others. This individual will possess a strong project management record, attention to detail, and well-developed organizational skills. Finally, he or she will be committed to serving with love, excellence, and integrity. This position is based at Water Mission’s headquarters in N. Charleston, SC, with permission to work remotely considered on a case-by-case basis. The Marketing Project Manager will report to the Marketing Director.
A successful Marketing Project Manager will perform:
General Duties
Present a strong Christian witness and model servant leadership to colleagues, partners, the communities we serve, and the public.
Maintain high-level knowledge of Water Mission’s organizational objectives, programmatic strategies, projects, and activities.
Communicate effectively with various audiences about the global water crisis and Water Mission’s vision, mission, values, and solutions.
Cultivate strong working relationships with colleagues in other departments throughout the ministry.
Ensure all relevant project information and communication are recorded in Smartsheet, and that project files are stored appropriately on SharePoint and other systems per marketing guidelines.

Project Management
Work closely with marketing staff, managers, and senior leaders to develop best-in-class strategies that promote the Water Mission brand and increase awareness about the global water crisis.
Stay current on projects within Partnerships and Communications (P&C) team, including events, partnership cultivation, appeals, and more.
Liaise with country programs to guide requests and develop creative strategies that build brand awareness.
Manage the successful, accurate, and timely execution of projects, including marketing collateral, impact reports, opportunity profiles, appeals, presentations, videos, web pages, booths, digital campaigns, and more.
Create strategic and tactical communications plans for P&C projects to increase brand awareness, strengthen partner relationships, and engage existing donors. Projects may include church mobilization efforts, advocacy campaigns, impact reports, and more.
Establish relevant campaign metrics at the outset of a project and report on them throughout fulfillment.
Oversee the Marketing and Communication department’s efforts to support the ministry’s disaster responses.
Establish project budgets, schedules, briefs, and scopes. Analyze project successes and ROI following completion.
Use an established project pipeline built on Smartsheet to plan deliverables, assign tasks, establish timelines, and monitor progress. Ensure project status is kept current and accurate at all times.
Manage reviews and approvals as a liaison between stakeholders.
Strategy and Implementation Plans:
Study the organization’s mission and drive project stages to meet this ultimate objective.
Proactively recommend campaign strategies and target audiences to increase Water Mission’s brand recognition.
Assess requests from internal and external clients for priority, strategic value, and suitability for the intended audience.
Provide branding and communications support, oversight, and staff training. Ensure consistent use of Water Mission brand standards globally (e.g., signage, apparel, print materials, etc.) for all events and partner engagements.
Develop collaborative relationships with our country program staff to drive storytelling, proposal writing, and other projects generated from the Programs division.
Create strategic and tactical communications plans to increase awareness of country programs, projects, and disaster response in order to keep partners and the general public engaged and informed about opportunities.

Bachelor’s degree required.
Six years of experience in executing marketing, communications, and development campaigns with demonstrated skills, knowledge, and successes (preferably in the nonprofit sector).
Proven success in driving complex, multi-channel marketing projects from inception through execution, including budget and timeline management, relationship building, detailed review process development, and quality control.
Ability to understand a high-level vision and develop a detailed plan to execute with the best results.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities while maintaining a positive team approach with internal and external partners.
Adept at accepting and giving constructive feedback.
Strong process, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to effectively manage an unpredictable workload and competing priorities to meet concurrent deadlines while also responding with flexibility to unanticipated requests.
Flexibility to work periodic nights and weekends as required for ministry operations.
Home internet bandwidth strong enough to support video conferencing and other job-related responsibilities is required.
Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
