The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Marketing Intern to join its Americas Commercial Water Utilities Vertical Marketing team for summer 2023. The Water Utilities market is something that is core to Xylem and a market that the Flygt, Leopold, Sanitaire, Wedeco, Godwin and Goulds and Sensus brands has served for more than 160 years. Key applications include transporting, treating, testing and analyzing, then returning water to the environment. Our brands produce highly efficient products and systems that require less maintenance, use less energy and provide environmental benefits to users and communities.

You will be assigned specific projects which are designed to add value to the organization while providing real world experience. While receiving mentoring and guidance, working with the Water Utilities Marketing Vertical team members on the growth initiatives.
*This will be a 10 week remote internship position located near a Xylem facility based on the location listed on the job posting.*
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
Develop channel management customer excellence tool kit.
Conduct voice of customer (VOC) activities to more closely understand specific residential customer decision makers (i.e. operators and consultants), their communication preferences, and how we could increase their specification of Xylem products and services (this could include interviewing experts, conducting desk research and potentially visiting existing customers).
Help develop new collaborative training tools.
Research competitive apps, comparison of best business tools to help installers (operators and consultants) grow their business.
Develop end user campaigns to drive awareness of new product(s) and existing core product(s) while considering customer personas, audience segmentation, and positioning in the marketplace.
Creating effective communications utilizing objectives, SMART goals, creative briefs and measuring KPIs for success.
Understanding marketing automation, customer relationship management (CRM), web analytics account-based marketing and how to effectively integrate these practices to target key customer accounts with the support of the local sales teams and report attribution of each.
Develop project management skills through new product development process
Design and present new social media campaign ideas.
Help develop and promote Xylem’s social responsibility program Watermark to new audiences
Perform market analysis and research on the latest trends.
Monitor all social media platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback.
Prepare detailed promotional presentations.
Help with the planning and hosting of marketing events.
Research and evaluate competitor marketing and digital content.
Contribute to the creation of mock-ups, email campaigns, and social media content.
