FUNCTION
The Marketing Copywriter plays a key role in creating marketing content that contributes to fundraising, brand awareness and donor stewardship. This person will conceptualize and write compelling copy for Heifer marketing materials in multiple channels, including print, digital and multimedia. They are a vital part of the Marketing Creative Services team as they contribute to the creative process from concept to completion. This role supports marketing campaigns for various audiences to achieve key strategic Marketing objectives.
We are looking for candidates located in Little Rock, AR or Central Arkansas area. Work arrangement is fully remote with occasional in-person meetings on a bi-weekly basis.

The Marketing Copywriter is detail-oriented, creative, collaborative, focused, versatile and a strategic thinker. They should have a growth mindset with the ability to accept constructive criticism and apply it to future projects. They will display the ability to understand complex information and communicate it to a mass market audience. This position requires strong working knowledge of content creation, strong planning skills, active listening and confident communication skills. The Marketing Copywriter works within a team dynamic and individually.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES
A. Marketing Copywriting and Design/Multimedia Collaboration (70%)
- Write copy to support marketing efforts in fundraising and brand awareness for the mass market audiences. This includes general marketing efforts as well as marketing campaign work.
- Collaborate with graphic designers, the multimedia producer and others to create top-notch marketing materials and campaigns
- Write marketing copy for mass market audiences that are essential for fundraising efforts and raising awareness about Heifer International
- Write collateral copy for marketing materials in print, digital and other mediums and channels
- Edit, proofread and fact check collateral and projects produced by the Creative Services team and the Marketing team, as assigned
- Work with different marketing teams to understand their goals and objectives in order to create copy to support and meet their priorities
- Disseminate organizational Heifer information in ways appropriate for the mass market audience and through various channels
- Brainstorm big ideas in all forms of communication to advance Heifer’s mission and marketing efforts
- Work with graphic designers, the multimedia producer and others on specific projects and campaigns to ensure copy and design are cohesive
- Edit and provide feedback on team projects, as requested
B. Integrated Marketing Campaigns (25%)
- Contribute to concepting and creating well-crafted integrated marketing campaigns focusing on fundraising, brand awareness and mass market donor stewardship
- Brainstorm and present new concepts for integrated marketing campaigns
- Review and provide feedback on campaign ideas and projects
- Create exceptional and well-crafted content and copy for approved integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels including print, digital and multimedia
- Work with various marketing stakeholders to understand channel needs and best practices while creating cohesive campaign collateral and materials

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree plus 2~4 years of related experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with marketing and/or nonprofit copywriting
- Adobe Creative Suite and/or knowledge of design practices
Most Critical Proficiencies:
- Strong concepting, copywriting, editing, script writing, storyboarding and grammar skills
- Ability to tell compelling stories through various collateral pieces
- Proven interpersonal and organizational communication skills
- Ability to relate well to internal stakeholders and the general public
- Knowledge of the awareness and context to which non-profit organizations operate
- Knowledge of Heifer's mission and its work worldwide
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications
- Commitment to further learn and enhance copywriting skills

Salary Information:
Starting salary for this position is $55k - $60k USD annually. Placement within the range will be based on the competency level of the candidate:
• Minimum: Entry level, meets minimum qualifications. Needs guidance and training to perform key responsibilities of the job
• Midpoint: Experienced and fully competent. Can independently perform all responsibilities of the job
• Maximum: Highly experienced and can perform at a higher level than expected
