Marketing Coordinator

About the opportunity

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Marketing Coordinator. Responsibilities include managing pursuits and contributing to strategic regional marketing efforts. Our ideal candidate will thrive in an environment with tight deadlines and changing needs while ensuring a best-in-class product. This a full-time, regular (with benefits), salaried position out of our Chicago, IL office; though qualified candidates from remote locations in the Central or Eastern time zones will be seriously considered.

What you will accomplish

  • Be a “go-to” resource for technical staff for marketing information, guidance, and support.

  • Participate in strategic planning for pursuits and marketing efforts, including:

    • leading internal teams through the pursuit development process,
    • coordinating strategic business development activities, and
    • facilitating capture planning activities, working collaboratively with technical staff.
  • Write non-technical content for pursuits and marketing materials.

  • Participate in preparations for interviews and client presentations.

  • Work with, and mentor, regional marketing assistants, including:

    • monitoring opportunities (through IMS, client websites, etc.) for distribution to team members, and
    • managing and maintaining relevant content in SWCA’s marketing database, Deltek Vision.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently (verbal, written and presentation).

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision on numerous concurrent projects with fast-paced deadlines.

  • Exceptional planning, organizational, proofreading, writing, and formatting skills.

  • Ability to lead processes and work with colleagues who have diverse interpersonal styles.

Experience and qualifications for success

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, or related technical discipline (degrees in other specialties are acceptable if relevance can be demonstrated).
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing the proposal development process.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in environmental consulting or architecture/engineering.
  • Experience working in Deltek Vision, SharePoint, or comparable management information system.
  • Knowledge of local markets, including clientele, associations and/or organizations.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.

Additional Information:

  • This position may require occasional overtime, including working evenings and/or weekends as necessary to meet submission deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to local offices occasionally.
