FSC Asia-Pacific is currently looking for a Market Development Manager, Asia-Pacific that will lead the implementation of market transformation strategies for prioritized value chains, and lead activities and projects in close cooperation with relevant stakeholders across Asia-Pacific. The Market Development Manager, Asia-Pacific will be part of the Asia-Pacific Regional Team and all relevant activities will be coordinated and aligned with Head of Market Development, Asia-Pacific.
Main Roles and Responsibilities
- To link FSC’ global priorities to APAC focussed accounts and to translate market development strategies into actionable business plans
- To execute implementation plans including monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
- To coordinate projects to increase uptake of FSC in the priority market segments or value chains.
- To lead the development and application of key account approach in market development.
- To plan and manage FSC’s engagement and presence at selected business events.
- To identify B2B Communications opportunities and support Communications Team where needed (e.g. media and public relations, storytelling, etc.).
- To manage cooperation with external service providers, consultants and FSC certificate holders related to market development.
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor or special project related to FSC APAC’s work plan.
Qualification, Experience and Skills
Working Education and Training:
- University degree in business/forestry/marketing/economics or an equivalent combination of education/vocational training and work experience relevant for the roles and responsibilities of this function.
- Continuous professional development in one or more of the following areas: forestry, facilitation, project management, communication, engagement
Working Experience, Style and Skills:
- 5 - 8 years of professional and practical experience of supply chain management/market development.
- Sound understanding of the scope of FSC’s programs, activities, policies and standards.
- Understanding of commercial forest product value chain needs and market forces, good knowledge on tropical wood products is a plus.
- Demonstrated awareness of geopolitics and changing market trends
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of integrity and credibility challenges within supply chains.
- Service oriented attitude to work.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to plan and organize work.
Languages:
- Fluency in Chinese (spoken and written).
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- Computer Skills – good skills in the use of/experience with:
- standard software packages (MS Office & Adobe)
Communication Skills:
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
- Respectful and friendly communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Active-listening skills.
- Experience in communicating with the media.
