Responsibilities

Overall Function

Environmental Defense Fund is hiring a Manager, Website administration to manage the build, outsourcing and maintenance of websites needed by EDF brand, program and department staff, helping them disseminate information about their work.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Digital Platforms, the Manager works closely with colleagues from across EDF, especially communications staff, project managers, designers, developers, as well as with external vendors. Projects vary in size from adding new site features to complete site builds. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, passionate about the technology, positive, collaborative, and adaptable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take primary responsibility for in-house production of microsites in Drupal and Wordpress that support program and department goals, including cohesion, quality and QA of sites

  • Share responsibility with supervisor for project management of outsourced microsites including contacts, planning, production, QA, launch and ongoing maintenance

  • Share responsibility with Build team and collaborate with IT application developers for in-house production of edf.org features, including wireframing, Drupal configuration, Front-end coding, QA and launch

  • Perform web based Drupal administration, such as maintaining Content Types and Taxonomy, and configuring Views, Layout Builder, Blocks, Feeds, and Webforms

  • Manage Wordpress platform and plugin updates and security patches

  • Follow build team development and documentation processes using Git and Github

  • Guide staff members to articulate and clarify their goals for all projects related to site builds, maintenance and additions

  • Provide clear documentation of features and sites, cross-train colleagues on updating sites, and both contribute to and follow our collection of digital best practices

  • Determine best approaches and tools to meet project goals, coordinate with project managers and stakeholders on timeline and resources, and help keep projects moving

  • Collaborate with IT and stakeholders on technical infrastructure for sites, such as hosting, domain names, SSL certificates and DNS

  • Contribute to other phases of digital projects as needed (such as data analysis, user testing or project management), and participate in team brainstorming, problem-solving, and quality assurance testing

  • Keep skills current for all our platforms, and move us ahead by exploring and evaluating new tools and techniques and sharing findings with the team

  • Participate in advancing EDF DEI goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or equivalent experience and at least six (6) years of relevant experience

  • Drupal (9 and up) admin configuration and build: creating and managing content types, views, contextual filters, blocks and other entity types, taxonomy, webforms, etc

  • Wordpress theme and plugin activation, updates, new site creation, multisite administration, visual builders (Divi, WP Bakery)

  • Basic front-end work experience including familiarity with html, CSS, SCSS, JS, etc

  • Familiarity with local development processes, Git and Github

  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and/or other analytics tools

  • Ability to coordinate and effectively collaborate with IT and stakeholders on domain name & SSL certificate requests

  • Ability to define requirements and determine the best approaches and tools to meet project goals, coordinating with project managers on timeline and resources

  • Demonstrated experience creating clear documentation of features and sites, cross-training colleagues, and both contributing to and following the team’s best practices

  • Experience and ability to QA other team members’ work as needed

  • Efficient with troubleshooting website issues, and being resourceful in finding the answers and solutions quickly

  • Ability to translate complex and technical information to non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment, using judgment required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external vendors; experience identifying and managing vendors a plus

  • Demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds

  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image

  • Experience building CMS user interface

Please note that pay ranges are country specific. As a result, the stated currency is not meant be converted into any other currency.

Minimum Salary

USD $95,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $106,000.00/Yr.
