ABOUT CPI
CPI is an analysis and advisory organization with deep expertise in finance and policy. Our mission is to help governments, businesses, and financial institutions drive economic growth while addressing climate change. CPI has six offices around the world in Brazil, India, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
CPI is known as a leader in tracking sustainable investment trends, identifying innovative business models, and supporting the solutions that can drive a transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy. We are unique in our focus on finance, our ability to get the right people to the table, and our analytical rigour.
ABOUT CCFLA
CPI also host the Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA), which is the only multi-level and multi-stakeholder coalition aimed at closing the investment gap for urban subnational climate projects and infrastructure worldwide. CCFLA was launched at the United Nations Secretary General’s Climate Summit in September 2014 and renewed at the United Nations Secretary General’s Climate Summit in September 2019, when the Secretariat was handed over to CPI.
Today, CCFLA has 86 Members committed to deploying finance for city-level climate action at scale by 2030. Its members represent many of the world’s largest city and subnational networks (C40, ICLEI, UCLG, GCOM, among others), major public and private financial institutions (World Bank, AFD, KFW, among others), governments, and international organizations.
CCFLA engages its members in knowledge, collaboration, and advocacy activities aiming to help close the urban climate finance gap. More specifically:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Over the past five years, CPI’s work in the urban and urban infrastructure sectors has experienced significant growth. CCFLA alone plans to deliver approximately 70 distinct deliverables in 2024, spanning reports, case studies, learning sessions, events, and coordination meetings. As part of our CCFLA 2024 main priorities, we're launching an adaptation and private sector stream aimed at catalysing investment in urban climate finance.
To ensure the success of these endeavours, we are seeking an individual who can contribute to leading, shaping and supporting the production of these vital deliverables, marking a crucial step forward in our mission to address climate challenges within urban environments. This is chiefly a research role, focused on providing expertise to the CPI team on urban climate finance and urban infrastructure trends and opportunities. The candidate will dedicate their full-time efforts to the CCFLA program initially, expanding to wider urban and urban infrastructure projects over time, and helping build CPI’s global urban and urban infrastructure program.
We are looking for a candidate who has previous knowledge and experience working in this field.
