Manager - Software Design & Development

We are looking for a Manager - Software Design & Development to join the Technical Services/ Development Team (QLD), internal applicants only.

This will be a vital role responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and optimisation of Infoxchange’s case management and referrals applications, including SRS, Referral Portals and related web services.

Our team is evolving rapidly and building applications that employ new technologies both in the frontend and backend. We are an inclusive team that uses lightweight Agile processes to contribute to our codebase. We use Git and an automated CI setup for builds, and we review each other’s pull requests. We believe in automation over repetition and aim to make our code modular and reusable.

The focus of your role will be to provide both technical and team leadership. You will support and empower your team members to deliver to the best of their capabilities, and you will be integral in nurturing a team environment of trust, quality, high performance and open communication.

From a technical perspective, you will collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver product enhancements and maintenance within reliable delivery schedules. You will also provide input into, and review application architecture and design decisions as required. It is expected that you will self-manage the ratio of non-technical and technical work based on priorities.

To succeed in this role at Infoxchange, you will demonstrate the following technical attributes:

• Experience working on scalable SaaS and mobile applications
• Experience working with AWS services (incl. serverless)
• Web development fundamentals: HTML, CSS, Javascript (both with vanilla Javascript and common frameworks such as ReactJS, React Native, and VueJS)
• Backend fundamentals: PHP, Python, PostgreSQL, Node.js
• Understanding of and experience with build tools: Docker, Gitlab, Yarn, Bower, NPM
• Understanding of and experience with unit testing, TDD, and BDD
• Understanding of APIs (REST, SOAP), including building scalable and high-performance web API
• Understanding of key software development and DevOps concepts, such as agile development, object-oriented design, microservices/right-sized services, automation, and CI/CD
