The Role: The Manager, Learning Experience (Technology & Design) defines and executes learning technology strategy and leads planning, development, and operational performance of the Learning Management System (LMS) and future learning technologies. They partner closely with IT, HRIS, and learning teams to lead the enterprise learning technology roadmap and craft innovative solutions to meet business objectives, create scalable processes and provide a best-in-class employee learning experience. The Manager, Learning Experience role is accountable for effective utilization, operation, and continuous improvement of the learning ecosystem and relentlessly innovates processes and digital capabilities to enhance enterprise learning technology efficiency and learner experience. They also manage technology and content vendor relationships.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
- Execute enterprise learning technology strategy that reimagines the future of learning experiences across all levels of the organization.
- Ensure easy to navigate day-to-day operational functionality and performance of the LMS.
- Work collaboratively with business teams and external vendors to Project Manage successful implementation of content library integrations.
- Lead and collaboratively set learning technology governance, standards, and processes.
- Actively participate in Xylem’s Learning Council by sharing LMS best practices and operating protocols to ensure the quality/integrity of the platform, gathering business needs to support cross-enterprise learning experiences and consult with internal stakeholders to proactively discuss platform changes/issues and how to meet those needs.
- Work collaboratively with HRIS on system enhancements, updates and configuration. Ensuring HRIS is well trained and supported to address learner experience issues.
- Provide expertise and support on the creation of certifications that will enable the organization to create and manage internal and external certifications.
- Collaborate with content creators for new/ updated blended courses/offerings/instructor-led trainings.
- Maintain knowledge of LMS settings and their impact on all system users and identifies inter-dependencies with other applications.
- Builds, tests, and maintains campaigns, assignment profiles, and other course deployment components to ensure learning programs and courses are accurately delivered to employees.
- Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Learning Design & Technology, Instructional Design, Organizational Design, Human Resources or related discipline and/or relevant experience.
- 5-8 years of work experience in a learning role, with experience implementing and working with industry leading LMS and LXP (such as Cornerstone On-Demand CSOD, EdCast, Degreed, etc.)
- 5-8 years experience managing small and large projects associated with learning/learning technology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with learning technology vendors.
- Previous experience evaluating and communicating the Return-on-Investment of learning technologies
- Deep passion for creating engaging and impactful learning experiences for all employees
- Experience working in an agile manner, with the ability to fail fast and learn from failures.
- Detail oriented and ability to think critically about challenges and opportunities, with strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with Captivate, SCORM, and course authoring
- Ability to work both in a team and independently.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- High level of comfort engaging with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience working with global teams/audiences preferred
