WWF-HK is looking for Manager, Event and Community Relations in our Development team, reporting to Head / Senior Manager, Corporate and Community Partnerships, who will lead all organization events including Big Bird Race, Walk for Nature, Earth Hour event and be in charge of corporate event at the centres by collaborating with centre managers to arrange the details and work with corporate team to engage and invite companies to join.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team to develop unique and impactful event themes and messaging that effectively engage our stakeholders, build brand awareness, and create a shared vision through compelling storytelling.
- Control annual events budget and exceed fundraising targets by implementing effective strategies and leveraging community reach.
- Conduct competitive analysis of the market and explore opportunities for new fundraising events and partnerships for existing events.
- Identify market segmentation, unique propositions, and partnership opportunities for each event and activity at least 6 months prior to the event. Prepare event decks for management and sponsors.
- Initiate, lead and oversee the planning, logistics, and execution of all aspects of fundraising events, including budgeting, vendor management, and on-site operations.
- Develop, manage and execute event marketing communications plans across digital and traditional channels.
- Liaise with relevant government departments regarding permits and venue matters.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve the event management process.
- Provide necessary assistance in terms of events and activities to other centres as required.
- Maintain good relations with clients and identify their needs and expectation for their events.
- Develop relationships and collaborate closely within own team/department as well as cross-functional partners.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communication or other related disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years of experience, ideally 4 years’ experience preferably in event management, event marketing and community engagement with at least 3 years of solid team leadership.
- Experience and knowledge in social media and marketing write up for event promotions will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with relevant government regulations and permits, such as TPPE License, will be an advantage.
- A team player with excellent leadership skills, interpersonal and communication skills; good logical thinking, strong problem-solving and negotiations skills.
- Substantial project management experiences.
- Proficiency in PC applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint , Knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator will be considered an advantage.
- Good command of written Chinese and English
