With world attention focused on both the environment and the economy, Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) is where policymakers and business leaders turn for win-win solutions. This leading green group, with programs from Boston to Beijing, has tripled in size over the past decade by focusing on strong science, uncommon partnerships, and market-based approaches.
Overall responsibility: EDF’s Development Communications team produces more than 700 donor materials annually. The Manager will provide support by assigning projects to members of the team based on areas of expertise, workloads, strategic priorities, and other variables. They will also play a key role in establishing project timelines in coordination with the writers, frontline fundraising teams, and program partners.
The Manager will keep a bird's-eye view of current and upcoming projects, tracking deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time with proper approvals, and identifying opportunities to streamline content-gathering for deliverables that share the same subject areas. This person will also keep the Development Communications directors informed on the progress of projects and potential bottlenecks. The Manager will also play a crucial role in reporting results and impact of the team's work.
The Manager will work closely with other members of the Development Communications team, Development coordinators, gift officers, program leadership, and executive offices to oversee the process of high-value projects. They will manage the team’s relationships with contractors, freelancers, and vendors.
The Manager will report to the Senior Director of Development Communications.
Location
The ideal candidate will be able work on a hybrid schedule out of EDF’s New York or San Francisco office. Remote candidates will be considered.
