Manager – Assurance Review Management (Energy)

The Gold Standard Foundation seeks a highly motivated individual to join our Standard development and Innovation team. It is a full-time position responsible for leading the assurance review of our projects with a focus on mitigation solutions under the Energy scope. The position reports to Director – Assurance Review Management.
This is a remote position (India, Germany, UK).

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Take the lead in managing project reviews aiming for GS4GG certification. This includes exciting projects within the GS4GG energy scope, such as renewable energy (RE), community services, waste management, engineered removals, and beyond.
Bring your expertise to the table by contributing to GS's innovative digitization initiative for assurance solutions.
Drive stakeholder engagement by leading discussions with the advisory committee on assurance matters, and gather valuable feedback from project developers, industry experts, and other key stakeholders.
Build and manage strategic relationships with subject matter experts to continually improve and bring innovation to assurance process.
Innovate and contribute to the development of cutting-edge ideas, concepts, and proposals for activities related to standard expansion and assurance processes.
Foster a high-performing team for project review and assurance. Provide training, supervise, and mentor junior staff, while managing a pool of subject matter experts to ensure top-notch project quality reviews.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
7+ years of demonstrated experience of certification or third-party auditing systems and in-depth knowledge of how they are managed, carbon project development or carbon/sustainability standards.
Degree in environmental science/ engineering/ management or relevant discipline.
Experience working on projects related to energy processes, preferably in renewable energy generation, household energy efficiency, waste management sectors and industrial energy efficiency. Experience in engineered removal is a plus.
Understanding of emission reduction/ avoidance process, monitoring and verification techniques including application of technologies.
Understanding of carbon accounting frameworks of IPCC and GHG Protocol.
Prior experience in standards setting/ methodology development would be an asset.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work with a range of staff based all around the world.
