Verra manages a portfolio of standards, including the:
● Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) -- the world’s leading carbon crediting program, with more
than 1600 registered projects in 80 countries, and accounting for two-thirds of all voluntary
carbon market transaction volume.
● Sustainable Development Verified Impact Standard (SD VISta) -- a flexible framework for
assessing and reporting on the sustainable development benefits of project-based activities.
● Climate, Community & Biodiversity (CCB) Standards -- to identify projects that
simultaneously address climate change, support local communities and smallholders, and
conserve biodiversity.
● Plastic Waste Reduction Program -- to enable robust impact assessment of new or scaled-up
waste recovery and recycling projects around the globe.
Verra is looking for an Accounting Manager to join the growing Operations team. The ideal candidate
will be self-motivated and experienced in general ledger accounting, accounts payable and payroll
processing, supporting a busy organization. The successful candidate should possess effective
communication skills, strong attention to detail, and an ability to work in a self-directed manner.
A day with Verra’s collaborative Operations Team might include…
● Prepare payroll journals for month-end close.
● Collaborating closely with the Director of Finance, Accounts Payable and Payroll Manager
to support the financial needs of the organization.
● Processing expense vouchers for payment
● Unanet budget upload and expense report training for Verra U.S. staff
● Work with Accounts Payable, Payroll to complete the month-end close
Specific functions you will be responsible for leading...
● Managing the full cycle of general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, and expense
reimbursements
● Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
● Prepare monthly journal entries and month-end close process
● Prepare bank reconciliations in Unanet
● Setting up corporate card requests in the PNC platform
● Backup for entering vendor banking information in PNC’s Pinnacle online platform
● Unanet staff training and adding additional projects and other set-up functions
● Providing audit support for annual audit and assist with PBC list
● Prepare financial statements and help prepare reports for the Board of Directors
● Provide Help Desk support to staff regarding expense reports and related issues
● Serve as a back-up role for payroll processing in Paychex
● Additional tasks as needed
You bring with you...
● Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional proficiency in English
● A track record of developing and maintaining strong working relationships with a diverse group
of stakeholders, and excellent customer service skills
● At least 10 years experience processing payroll through an automated system like Paychex and
handling confidential and sensitive information
● A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field
● At least 10 years of financial accounting experience
● Strong time management, attention to detail, accuracy, analytical and interpersonal
skills
● Advanced Excel skills
● Experience with Unanet or similar accounting software

Compensation at Verra
To help us attract and retain top talent, Verra pays employees competitively to the market. In return,
we expect each employee to, at a minimum:
● Meet expectations in terms of work effort and performance;

For this position, the salary range is USD $86,877-$92,383, depending on experience.
We will recognize employees who go beyond expected performance with salary increases and/or
promotions, but the bar for earning those rewards is high.
Salary is one component of Verra’s total compensation package, which also includes:
● Health, vision and dental care, and life insurance;
● Verra contributions to each employee’s retirement plan;
● Verra contributions as required by national labor laws in countries where staff are located;
● Paid Time Off (PTO), comprising 22-30 days plus ten floating holidays, sabbatical after five
years of service, and other leave allowances; and
