About you

We are looking for a self-starter who has previously owned the day to day running of a small business’ finance function.  Someone who understands the need for attention to detail and is able to improve and embed financial processes and controls as required.

Joining as the Management Accountant you will be pivotal to the day-to-day running of financial activities and providing timely data for management and board reporting and as well as supporting the Financial Controller, Rachel Clark with strategic modeling.  You will work closely with the FC while also interacting with all aspects of the business including Ops, Marketing, Web Development and Customer Service.

What you’ll do;

• Take responsibility for daily end to end transactional finance (use of Dext, Xero and Pleo to update daily transactions and track performance against Budget);
• Manage accounts payable and receivable;
• Bank reconciliations;
• Month end Balance Sheet reconciliations including prepayments and accruals;
• Prepare financials and commentary for management accounts and board pack;
• VAT returns;
• Maintain the cap table; and
• Ad hoc commercial analysis and cost analysis to help drive decision making;

What we are looking for;

• Qualified Accountant (CIMA or ACCA preferred)
• Min 3 years finance experience in a similar role
• Experience of Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax and Pleo an advantage
• Excel / Google sheets advanced user
• High levels of IT literacy and comfort using online systems
• Good problem solving ability
• Shows initiative and takes ownership
• Comfortable working remotely and independently

Culture & work/life

We’re a fully remote team on flexible hours (but generally available between 10am-4pm GMT) to accommodate busy family lives, but attendance at face-to-face strategy and All Hands and social days in Scotland will be required periodically. Ideally the candidate will be available 28 hours per week, ideally spread across 5 days.
