Climate Fund Managers (CFM) is looking for a dynamic Management Accountant to join our Finance Team, based in Claremont, Western Cape, South Africa. The role will support the Finance Manager to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
CFM was established in 2015 as a joint venture between the Dutch development bank FMO based in the Netherlands and Sanlam InfraWorks – part of the Sanlam Group of South Africa. Headquartered in The Netherlands, our offices span across the emerging markets we serve, located in Singapore, South Africa, and Colombia.
As one of the leading blended finance investment managers, our business is focused on responding to the climate crisis. We use blended finance structuring to attract public and private capital to invest in high-impact sectors in emerging markets aimed at addressing the thematic areas of climate change mitigation and adaptation, including renewable energy, water and oceans, sustainable land use, and sustainable cities.
The primary focus of the role is responsibility for overseeing (i) the payables function so as to ensure timely capturing of creditors invoices, appropriate invoice allocation and settlement of creditors, (ii) preparing invoices and the debtors reconciliations (iii) bank reconciliation review and (iv) fixed asset register.
Responsibilities
Preparing monthly management accounts
Ensure all payable transactions processed and expense review notes updated and complete
Review and post monthly payroll journals and ensure reconciles to Payroll Administrator
Prepare invoices (external and inter-group), journals and manage debtors aging
Ensure balance sheet accounts reconciled and prepare journals in respect of prepayments, accruals, IFRS16, Fixed Assets, Investments and Capital Register
Prepare cash forecast
Prepare business plan and reforecasts
VAT and Corporate Income Tax
External audit support
Providing information for audits
Preparing financial statements
Qualifications & Experience
CIMA, SAIPA or CA(SA)
Two to three years’ relevant management accounting experience, preferably within the financial services sector
Strong technical accounting knowledge
Extensive knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Knowledge of PowerBI, a distinct advantage
Working knowledge of accounting systems (particularly Microsoft Dynamics)
Analytical and logical problem-solving skills
