Job Summary:
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), providing for a safe work environment, planning scheduled maintenance, coordinating repair of machines and providing scheduling of maintenance and repairs on facility utility systems, while being a part of a team environment. The Maintenance Planner will work with the Maintenance Manager in developing the planned maintenance schedule in coordination with production to minimize impact.
Primary Responsibilities
- Evaluate work orders and release to the maintenance/tooling/production departments for completion
- Review completed work orders and take any necessary actions
- Reporting of data collected by providing downtime information, machine efficiency, determining required replacement parts and coordination of downtime activities
- Evaluate parts for criticality and provide information to parts crib for stock
- Perform Maintenance root cause and failure analysis (RCFA) activity as well as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) event participation
- Plan and coordinate for facility equipment service and repair
- Resource parts for equipment repair
- Create Preventive Maintenance (PM’s) and schedules from equipment manuals
- Maintain CMMS for assets. PM schedules and facility repairs
- Provide data as requested for plant assets, downtime and cost tracking
- Use a computer to maintain and update the preventative maintenance records
- Timely repair of equipment in any breakdown condition to preserve the integrity of the production planning process and minimize downtime to include supporting maintenance activities that are predominantly mechanical in nature
- Contacting, coordinating with, and supporting outside contractors to ensure timely repairs, special PM activities, modify existing equipment or commissioning new equipment
- Identification and procurement of key critical maintenance, repair, operations, and machine items
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and regulatory policies, and practices
- Ability to work in demanding environments (noise, dust, contamination)
Job Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 3 years industrial planning experience or a minimum of 5 years industrial maintenance experience in any discipline or a mixture of the 2.
- Extensive experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions in English, short correspondence, and memos, such as supervisory instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and work orders
- Ability to effectively share information about job duties in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
- Must be able to develop parts needs from manufacturing bill of materials (BOM).
- Proficient computer skills to include Excel, Word, and Access
- Ability to read schematics and prints
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations
- Safe and efficient in task completion and problem solving
- Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret piping and instrumentation drawings
- A positive and proactive attitude towards safety is essential
