Machining Project Engineer

Act as a Manufacturing Project Engineering Specialist at a manufacturer of gas reciprocating engines.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Initiate and manage new equipment installation projects in a machining environment
- Manage and implement multiple projects including scope & specification development, scheduling, machine tool vendor management and budget control
- Coordinate project implementation with operations team
- Develop and document fixtures and tooling for new manufacturing processes
- Participate in LEAN initiatives and use Six Sigma tools for process improvements
- Work with Manufacturing Technicians and cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements
- Assure that engineering specifications are documented within manufacturing quality requirements
Your Profile:
- Mechanical Engineering technology diploma or Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering from an accredited college or university with 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Project management experience including specification writing, contractor & timeline management in a machining environment
- Lean Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training
- Experience in process, fixturing and tooling development in 3-5 axis machining of castings and forgings
- Knowledgeable in CNC operations and programming fundamentals
- Knowledge of engine components and related manufacturing processes including gauging and inspection
- Able to handle diverse activities simultaneously and support a self-directed team environment
- Strong interpersonal, technical, organizational, oral and written communication skills
- Able to analyze problems, identify root causes, and provide efficient solutions
- Able to communicate effectively and contribute to team projects while supporting the development of technical expertise within the team
