Job Summary:
The Lead Maintenance Technician will report to the Spoke Maintenance Manager and will take responsibility in leading multidiscipline teams through outage execution. The ideal candidate is expected to pro-actively supervise the onsite execution of maintenance related activities. The Lead Maintenance Technician will play a key part of Li-Cycle’s corporate maintenance team. A broad knowledge across all aspects of mechanical and electrical equipment and piping design for industrial facilities is required. The Lead Maintenance Technician will need to be able to work in the United States and Canada.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Actively manage and lead multidisciplinary teams for onsite execution of maintenance related activities. Need to provide technical supervision for planned work, which will include leading teams of Li-Cycle employees, contractors, and Vendors. Must have a team player mentality.
- Maintain log of labor hours from multidiscipline teams.
- Willing and able to travel to Spoke facilities to support emergency breakdowns.
- Support the repair of equipment, as needed.
- Lead job safety briefings before the start of any work. Provide schedule updates on project activities.
- Coordinating with the corporate maintenance team, standardize maintenance policy and procedure at Spoke facilities.
- Conduct troubleshooting for equipment issues, breakdowns, or failures.
- Document troubleshooting items, inspection notes, lessons learned and collaborate with corporate maintenance subject matter experts (SME’s) for continuous improvement efforts.
- Coordinate and work with project stakeholders across multiple organizations to reduce risk and enable maximum reliability of Spoke facilities for Li-Cycle.
- Provide supplier shop and project field support as needed for project engineering and construction teams.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and regulatory policies, and practices.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 10 years' experience as a maintenance technician in industrial environment
- Understanding of selection, operation, and maintenance of industrial equipment
- Mechanic, millwright or equivalent, with skills set including but limited to:
- Able to perform machine inspection and alignments (e.g. micrometer, calipers, dial indicator, feeler gauges, machinist level, laser alignment, etc.)
- Able to comprehend and review technical and complex machinery and equipment manuals
- Capable of communicating technical subject matter verbally and written to peers, vendors, and management
- Experience in construction or start-up of an industrial facility is a plus
- Experience in a reliability role at an industrial facility is a plus
- Knowledge of industry best practices
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Travel up to 75% of the time to support onsite maintenance, troubleshooting, and auditing.
