Lead Commercial Proposal Manager

🇺🇸 Houston, TX, US 📝 FULL-TIME

**Essential Responsibilities

Tools and Processes**

  • Use and maintain sales tools
  • Perform project specific financial feasiblity sutdies for various engine application
  • Set-up and financial instruments
  • Follow the defined risk management process (commercial / technical)
  • Initiate / Participate at „risk reviews“
  • Use of Oracle database for quoting/ booking projects
  • Use of Salesforce.com during quoting process
  • Creation of commercial proposal documents

Documents and Quotes

  • Use standardized sales documents (e.g. country-specific price lists, specifications, …)
  • Elaborate commercial special release documents for project specific changes deviating from our standard product program
  • Support regional sales and commercial teams on quotes
  • Independent creation of quotes for complex projects
  • Negotiation of contract terms/ shipment scope
  • Create project specific offers / calculations / configurations / handover to production, etc. with the support of ERP system
  • Prepare project specific sales contracts and relevant documents (calculations, specifications, …)

Feedback

  • Check Terms and Conditions, project specific legal & tax requirments and financial terms. Get internal approvals for deviations
  • Feed back potential product adaptions according to country-specific requirements

Knowledge Transfer and Regional Support

  • Train regional sales and commercial teams on processes, sales tools, products
  • Provide technical and commercial support to regional sales and commercial teams and participate in negotiations with customers
  • Support for direct/ indirect sales channels (key accounts, channel partners, packagers, etc..)
  • Ensure proper handover is complete when projects are closed to execution teams.

Qualification Requirements

**• Commercial degree with financial and/or legal background• 2-4 years of Commercial experience in the relevant industry, preferably in reciprocating engine industry
• Experience in elaborating complex commercial tasks, legal clrarifications and financial instruments (bonds, payment securities) 
• interdisciplinary thinking/acting
• Used to work in process oriented environment
• Capability to support and train regional teams
• Wilingness to travel (20-30%)
• Oracle database experience preferred
• Salesforce experience preferred
• Ability to effectively manage time
• Knowledge of the Energy market
• Fluency in English

• Ability to effectively operate in a matrix organization
• Strong Excel/ Word skills and good knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications
• Time management skills
• Understanding of energy markets
