Knowledge Management and Communications Consultant

WWF-HK is looking for a Consultant to work closely with the Asia Pacific Counter IWT Hub (“the Hub”) on communications and knowledge management. The consultant will provide support mainly to the Hub’s priority workstreams but working closely with the technical and communications teams.

The Consultant will provide support to the Hub focusing on English language support, copy-editing, transport focused stories and thought pieces, knowledge management product roll-out and documenting events or webinars.

Objective of the Consultancy and Responsibilities

To elevate knowledge-sharing and outreach, the Hub will continue to engage a Knowledge Management and Communications Consultant, who will provide English language support, copy-editing, IWT or human interest focused stories and thought pieces, managing the IWT Hub internal google site, knowledge management product roll-out and documenting events or webinars.

To support the Hub on key knowledge management issues including:

  • Conceptualization and management of a hub knowledge management site, strengthen its growth strategy, content, and features of the site and IWT tools and courses developed by the Hub, and market these to the WWF Network and other key stakeholders.
  • Help organize Hub-led or supported physical and online events and lead in documenting highlights or press releases.
  • Liaise with Hub stakeholders on the development and promotion of other WWF IWT online or capacity-building courses and programs, including those co-organized with external partners

To provide English language communications support to the Hub including:

  • Support the production of English language stories and materials aimed at the WWF network

  • Provide communications support to the Hub including English language speech drafting/editing, etc.

  • Write 10-12 articles or thought pieces on IWT trends, emerging issues in counter-IWT work.  Supporting the creation of human-led conservation impact stories or emerging trends in counter IWT work in the region, which capture key funding priorities and narratives within the Hub’s work.

  • Lead copy-editing articles or reports produced by the Hub.

Required Profile:

  • Knowledge/Expertise: English language, understanding of IWT issues related to financial crime investigations, transport, cybercrime and One Health, understanding of writing, editing and promotion of key issues.
  • Experiences: Prior writing experience as a conservation journalist, IWT report-writing, knowledge management, and experience promoting conservation issues
  • Skills and Abilities: English language writing and editing, design, understanding of conservation issues, social media experience.
