IT Site Engineer

Location: Rochester, NY - USA

Job Summary:

We are looking for an IT Site Engineer to support our Spoke facilities in the USA. Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations. Supervise and manage vendor relationships.  The IT Site Engineer will supervise the implementation and maintenance of our company’s computing needs. The successful candidate will have good management skills, proven professional experience and a detailed knowledge of industry’s best practice processes.

Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Must be able to fly to sites around the USA to support Operations/Infrastructure initiatives
• Support and maintenance of one of our spoke facilities
• Coordinate system upgrades, enforce and follow IT best practices and documented procedures
• Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
• Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
• Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
• Audit systems and assess their outcomes
• Preserve assets through asset management system, information security and control structures
• Handle and ensure cost effectiveness

Additional responsibilities:

• Work with a Managed Service Provider to organize and schedule maintenance, upgrades and backups

• Maintain logs of repairs, upgrades, and maintenance timeframes

• Identify computer or network equipment deficiencies and communicate opportunities for improvement to Senior Management

• Review data collected by direct reports and identifies needs or trends.

• IT Site Engineer will Coordinate and execute multi-site and regional IT infrastructure projects including network, hardware, software, Cyber Security, disaster recovery, and IT support (offices and shop floor)

• Coordinate and execute IT infrastructure improvement projects across multi-sites and regions. Good working knowledge of Network topology & equipment (firewall, switches, active directory, anti-virus,), Server hardware & OS (Win server, storage arrays), and Personal Computer hardware, OS, software (Win, Mac, O365)

• Demonstrated capability to configure, maintain, and troubleshoot items above

• Hands on experience implementing Cyber Security solutions

• Third party Suppliers and Customer relationship skills and ability to communicate (verbal & written) effectively and interact with customers at all organizational levels and leaders in other regions.

• Good program & project management skills with the ability to prioritize activities effectively to execute multiple projects in parallel

• Demonstrative Change Management experience

Job Qualifications:

• Travel up to 50% - passport or real ID required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
• 5+ years Information Technology job related
• Proven working experience as an IT Engineer or relevant experience
• Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
• Expertise in data management and data governance
• Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
