ABOUT THE ROLE

The IT Project Manager is a member of the Information Technology team and will work closely with 3Degrees business experts across the organization to understand business requirements, processes, and workflows.  You will collaborate with our internal application development team and external vendors to translate business requirements into specifications for systems enhancements, new applications, or new services.  You will help manage the implementation, testing, and rollout of new systems, applications, and services.

This is a full-time, exempt role reporting to our Director of IT. The role may be based in San Francisco, CA, Portland, OR, Portland, ME or for highly qualified candidates you may work from a remote home office, with a willingness to travel periodically for team meetings or training.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Project Management:

• Manage a small portfolio of technical projects, at various stages, through their lifecycle
• Gather requirements and acceptance criteria for technical initiatives
• Help develop and mature corporate project management processes

IT Systems Improvement:

• Evaluate current system efficiency and functionality by liaising with internal departments and end-users
• Ensure that computer systems remain compatible with enhancements and updates

Systems Testing, Training and Integration:

• Perform testing and troubleshooting of new applications, features, and services
• Ensure end-user adoption and proficiency with new systems, programs, and applications across departments. Prepare and conduct training where appropriate.
• Scope, document and obtain approval for new system development projects and services
• Integrate new systems, programs, and applications with business operations and services

ABOUT YOU

You are an experienced and versatile technical project manager skilled at improving information technology systems.  You are competent and creative in system and application design. You are a problem solver and a multitasker with a love for navigating complexity and tackling ambiguous problems.   You are process-oriented, flexible in your approach, and you have an excellent balance of IT expertise with in-depth project management experience.

HOW WE DEFINE SUCCESS

Within 90 days

• Established relationships with key business stakeholders and a general understanding of existing needs and priorities as well as software tools in place today and work in progress
• Knowledge of company strengths, weaknesses and pain points related to technology

Within 6 months

• Define and implement a system to track and report project developments and status
• Ability to engage and contribute to detailed conversations with business units on project needs
• Diagnose and present potential areas of concern or significant challenges within proposed project scopes and recommend alternate solutions to resolve

Within 9 months

• Strong comprehension of existing systems and flow of information across the company
• Effectively manage and prioritize cross-functional technology projects
• Define project scope, user feedback, and prioritization processes
