Job Title: IT Operations Manager, Europe

Overall Function:
The EDFE IT Operations Manager will play an essential part in contributing towards EDFE’s mission and expansion plans across Europe. The position will report to the to the Senior Director Technology and Client Operations, which is based in the US, and will work closely with the EDFE AVP European Operations and others to establish and manage the technical operations of the European offices in Brussels, Amsterdam, London and other locations. It will also assist in identifying and managing key third-party technology vendors, including planned technical support managed services, audio-visual contractors, as well as play a liaison role around key areas around GDPR and other related policy questions or issues. This position will also coordinate with the US IT staff on any client operations or general technology issues and assist in communicating EDFE technology issues or priorities to the US-based staff.
Located in our Brussels office, there will be occasional travel to Amsterdam and London when required. We offer flexible working, with the role operating hybrid working from home and 2 to 3 days a week in our shared office space in central Brussels.
The EDFE IT Operations Manager will work closely with both the mission-based and administrative staff members, and will assist in the planning for the overall support of the growing EDFE team. The successful candidate will have strong communication and customer service skills, and will by a key part of the operational team. Other areas of responsibility will include mobile/telecom contracts, expedient laptop delivery to new hires and laptop maintenance agreements, and acting as a central point of contact for all EDFE technology questions. The position will manage one or more client operations analysts, as well as third party service providers or consultants.
The successful candidate will have an applicable level of relevant experience as a Help Desk Manager within either a startup or SME environment and have a flexible, positive and upbeat personality. You may alternatively have a background in a Service delivery provider, with a focus on procurement and office/facilities management. Experience in the Not for Profit, Charity, or wider Public Sector would also be an additional bonus, though not essential.
We are looking for someone who is strong on business processes, and ensuring continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be solutions-focused, have demonstrable experience of developing office environments, and have confidence in communicating with people at all levels of the organisation.
The role will report directly into the Senior Director Technology and Client Operations, based in the US, with a dotted line into the AVP European Operations based in Brussels.
The role will have at least one direct report, based in the UK.

The role involves light travel between Brussels, Amsterdam and London, with occassional travel internationally for Staff Retreats and to work with colleagues (when appropriate, in accordance with global health and safety best practices and Covid-19 travel restrictions.)
