What is the opportunity?
The IT Development and Operations (Dev/Sec/Ops) Director position will be responsible for the provision, management, and support of Water Mission’s IT application development, custom applications, application integrations, and operations of the supporting systems environments. This position will work closely with the Chief Information Officer to establish and implement best-in-class solutions, industry standards, and best practices over the associated services to ensure secure, high reliability, and optimum performance for the developed applications, all hosted environments, and supporting IT Infrastructure services. The scope of IT Dev/Sec/Ops covers the above-mentioned services for Water Mission operations globally. This full-time remote position can be located in Charleston, SC, or remotely.
A successful IT Dev/Sec/Ops Director will:
Maintain a strong Christian witness and model servant leadership to colleagues, partners, the communities we serve, and the public.
Develop and manage relationships with Water Mission business and department heads.
Engage and participate in prayer before and after team meetings.
Lead and participate in biblically based staff devotions.
Gain an in-depth understanding of business and operational needs to provide proactive solutions and services.
Develop a strategic roadmap for the technology solutions and services provided by the IT Dev/Sec/Ops department.
Manage out-sourced application development team using agile methodology and right-size the development team based on demand and budget.
Provide BA (Business Analyst) function to define, design and implement enhancements or configuration changes for new or improved functionalities.
Ensure IT infrastructure services and cloud-hosted service providers are supporting Water Mission developers, applications, databases, and websites to provide the agreed or required service levels.
Develop and manage the structure and staffing for the provision and support of IT Dev/Sec/Ops services.
Provide, manage, and continuously improve the services provided by IT Dev/Sec/Ops department.
Develop and implement solution standards to ensure optimum performance, security, and reliability for use of Water Mission custom applications globally.
Work closely with the CIO, with respect to the IT infrastructure services supporting Water Mission custom applications, for the design, implementation, management, and support of the IT infrastructure solutions, including mobile and cloud infrastructure and platforms, network, servers, storage, specialty end-user solutions, networking, and management and monitoring solutions, to ensure that Water Mission custom applications are supported with excellence.
Develop, implement, and maintain IT Development, Operational, and Security standards, policies, and measurements to ensure consistent, efficient, and effective delivery of services.
Conduct research and recommend changes in IT Dev/Sec/Ops services, products, protocols, and standards for improved systems availability and performance using industry best practices.
Develop and deliver IT Dev/Sec/Ops services strategy, architecture, and service delivery standards.
Direct and manage key infrastructure vendor relationships, including contract negotiations.
Implement, manage, and support security solutions, services, and controls for Water Mission applications and supporting system environments.
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Produce reporting and key performance metrics for IT Dev/Sec/Ops services.
Oversee operational costs and develop IT Dev/Sec/Ops expense forecasting.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned by CIO.

Bachelor’s Degree required.
5+ years of IT leadership experience, preferably in IT development operations.
Comprehensive, in-depth experience and hands-on competency in managing application and/or web development, cloud-hosted platforms, system environments and services, IT infrastructure solutions, and services.
Previous experience with software such as Azure and Amazon Web Services, SQL, Mongo DB, SharePoint, Power BI, Firewalls preferred.
Highly self-motivated.

Driven to achieve excellence.
Cybersecurity certification/training preferred (ex. Sec+, CCNA, CISSP).
Home internet bandwidth strong enough to support video conferencing and other job-related responsibilities.
Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
