Mainstream Renewable Power is seeking to recruit a Senior Energy Analyst (wind) As part of Mainstream’s global Energy Analysis Group, you will have responsibility for providing metocean and wind resource assessment and energy analysis and modeling for large offshore windfarms in various geographical locations. Furthermore, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead provide site condition studies, meteorological measurement campaigns, wind turbine layouts and will ensure these are conducted in accordance with industry best practices. Tasks and responsibilities will lie within the early stage development activities all the way through to final project completion and ultimately wind farm operation.
Applications to work in either Mainstream’s Dublin, Oslo or Hamburg offices will be considered.
You will:
- Provide best practice energy analysis deliverables for utility-scale projects (typical project value €100m-€2bn)
- Have a key role in wind farm layout design including supporting permitting activities associated with turbine locations
- Design optimal site-specific measurement campaigns for wind sites, including cost/benefit assessments of different technologies.
- Interact with turbine OEMs on topics such as site-specific power curves, Turbine Supply Agreements, and documentation for suite suitability
- Interface with wind turbine suppliers and foundation designers
- Stay in touch with the latest technological developments as well as collaborate and link with the company’s digitalization endeavours
- Keep abreast of the latest developments within wake and blockage effects
- Support internal strategy for all aspects of offshore wind farm energy analysis, including participating in internal R&D
You have:
- Minimum Master’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical degree.
- 3-10 years of experience in energy analysis of wind development projects, preferably offshore
- Best practise knowledge of offshore wake-modelling, floating LiDAR measurements, and offshore layout design.
- Experience in meteorological data collection campaigns and with siting turbines
- Adept at performing bankable wind yield assessments using wind flow- and farm modeling software such as Openwind, WindSim, Meteodyn WT, windPRO
- Experience in Python and/or similar programming language
- Demonstrated skills in use and application of relevant IEC and other standards
- Experience in the analysis of operational wind farms and/or IEC power curve testing is an advantage.
- Ability to define non-standard work requirements within joint ventures and international project teams, and to anticipate and manage the workload accordingly.
- Proven ability to defend highly analytical and technical work to external companies.
- the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- An independent drive to continuously improve the status quo, as well as maintain close collaboration with the project team to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of projects
- High level of flexibility and agility as well as organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills in English. Nordic and other languages are considered a plus
- Willingness to travel internationally.
