Summary of Role:
Mainstream Renewable Power is looking for a Senior Analyst in the Markets & Regulatory Affairs department. The successful candidate will be responsible for quantitative and qualitative analysis of market, regulatory, policy and commercial drivers in regions Mainstream operate in and are seeking to enter. Your insights will guide strategic decision-making and support the development of competitive, sustainable renewable energy projects, the growth of Mainstream’s business, and its mission for a world electrified by renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead quantitative and qualitative analysis of energy markets in Mainstream regions, accruing intelligence on market, regulatory, policy and commercial drivers across solar, wind, and BESS sectors.
- Support auction analysis and execution including validating and modelling key bidding assumptions and responsibility for realised price forecasts for Mainstream projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial functions within the wider Mainstream group and co-ordinate market research activities and regular knowledge sharing across regions. Collaborate and work closely with other functions within the central corporate teams and shareholders on a frequent basis.
- Prepare and present briefings on energy market fundamentals, including quantifying impacts of regulatory change on Mainstream projects, as required for executive management, country GMs, shareholders and industry stakeholders.
- Develop and implement policy advocacy that support successful deployment of renewables in regions where Mainstream operates.
- Represent Mainstream with key external stakeholders in industry and public fora to support the achievement of regulatory and policy objectives.
Qualifications:
- Experience and understanding of multiple energy markets with the ability to accrue market intelligence and draw out the implications to give clear strategy advice.
- Detailed knowledge of energy policy, and experience participating in renewable energy auctions and public tenders for renewable power.
- Proficiency in excel and quantifying impacts of policy and regulatory change on projects.
- Experience in developing and presenting materials to key stakeholders including country GMs, executive management, shareholders and policy makers.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the energy industry including experience and knowledge of renewable generation and BESS solutions.
- Advanced degree, preferably with a focus in Business, Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
- Experience in working with multicultural teams and across functional structure as a strong team player that thrives in a challenging, dynamic environment and can manage across multiple projects.
- Strong critical and analytical reasoning, fluency in English and excellent written and oral communications skills.
